Good News - October 2024

As a youth I admired sleek luxury sports cars, but now I appreciate the practicality of a 4-wheel drive truck that can hop curbs, get through mud, and carry a canoe and other outdoor adventure gear. Justus Martin, Photographer, Justus Martin Photo Definitely a Corvette! My wife won't let me have one for obvious reasons. Lol! Larry Lacy, Pastor, The Answer Church The baby blue ’57 Thunderbird ragtop my dad restored himself. Laura C. Bishop, Executive Vice President of Development, Palm Beach Atlantic University If I could choose any car to drive, it would be a 1966 Ford Mustang. My brother owned one, and the memories we made in it are truly unforgettable! Its iconic design and performance evoke a sense of freedom and nostalgia. Dr. Mary Drabick, President, South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary As I have aged, I have traveled (literally) from old beaters to sporty smaller cars, to family station wagons and vans, to larger vehicles that provide more cush for the tush as I desire more comfort. Now I am at the age to begin my second childhood. So, I think I want a nice extended cab pickup truck with power seats, power steering, power windows and all the extras. I think a GMC Denali or similar would do just fine. Especially if someone else is paying for it! Mike McDermott, PA, Seniors Real Estate Specialist, The Keyes Company I love the new 2025 Chevrolet Corvette. If money is no issue, then I might lean toward the 2024 Ferrari SF 90. I’m not picky! Milan Stefanovic, Chief Operations & Personal Lines Officer, Bass Underwriters I have driven mostly Japanese cars and presently owning a Lexus sedan, I would like to have a Lexus SUV as it allows me to sit higher and have a better view. Oksana Horton, Artistic Director, Torch and Trumpet Theatre Company If I could have any car I wanted, I would just replace it with a new paid-off RAV4, like what I have. It is reliable and comfortable. Patricia L. Colangelo, EdS., South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary The car I wish I could drive is “the one that I drive right now.” I’ve always had a simple perspective on cars and things that I’ve owned...* I have loved whatever I’ve had. Even my old convertibles that had no roof lol… I don’t get into too many ‘comparison traps’ …simple consistent gratitude (as the Apostle Paul wrote, “I have learned to be content whether in plenty or in want.” FUN FACT: At this time in life God has provided a fun, sporty, gloss black, 2019 Audi with custom wheels and a sunroof…now that’s perfect for me.
