Located on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, Westminster Academy will soon see significant improvements to its facilities and programs thanks to this milestone initiative. At the meeting, the congregation overwhelmingly approved financing to purchase the remaining 48 years of a 99year land lease on property directly adjacent to the church and school campus. This marks the first time the church and school have had the opportunity to acquire the property, according to a church announcement. “This is a historic and unprecedented moment,” said Dr. Rob Pacienza, senior pastor of Coral Ridge. “From increased safety and improved facilities to new opportunities for Christian education and discipleship, this is truly a generational investment in the future of Westminster Academy.” The funds will not only cover the acquisition of the land lease but also construction-related expenses tied to both current and future projects. The expansion is part of Westminster Academy’s ambitious “The Next Chapter Capital Campaign,” which Headmaster Dr. Joel T. Satterly describes as embracing the school’s founding vision of academic excellence and spiritual vitality. “Our founders were motivated to start a school that linked academic rigor with spiritual vitality, and we are now at a place operationally and functionally to further build on that foundation ,” said Satterly. “The Next Chapter of our story must embrace that vision. Specialized instruction calls for dedicated labs and classrooms. Student safety has become increasingly important, making a self-contained campus a more pressing issue. Our competitive aquatic programs need a new complex to replace an aging pool.” With over 4,000 alumni and more than 1,000 current students in preschool through 12th grade, Westminster Academy continues to impact the city, state, nation, and world through a caring, Christ-centered environment. The expansion promises to create a vibrant community for the next generation of Kingdom leaders.
