“Sail on, Sailor” by The Beach Boys when I graduated high school in 1972. The lyrics were all about going through unsettled waters, fighting through and getting to the other side. Never crumbling, never stumbling. Just keep sailing on sailor. Going to the next step college and beyond. This was an inspiration to me. Besides, The Beach Boys are my second favorite group next to the Beatles up to the Rubber Soles album. Steve Solomon, Area Director, CBMC South Florida During the late 70’s, I spent most of my time dancing the night away with my bestie, Patty. I was pretty young and foolish at that time in my life. I have so many that can take me back to that time and space. I had to choose two that I still hear playing in my head. “Don’t Look Back” by Boston and “Keep Pushin’” by REO Speedwagon. Both songs encourage me to push forward and not give up. Even though I’d fallen into a pretty wild lifestyle, He had His hand of love and protection over me.
