d - e - - d w , . , , s r - - d f d d e d h f r - s h g e One of the many challenges that I faced while in a leadership role was after only a 24-hour notice, I had to take over the top leadership position running two campuses. Next, I was told to find a location for one of the campuses and move it within two weeks, while continuing to serve students and motivate staff. I had to focus on serving those that were being affected by these big changes. Relying on God was the only way we were able to get through this. Patricia Colangelo, EdS, South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary A very significant moment when my faith helped me through a leadership challenge, was without a doubt Monday morning March 16th, 2020 (3:16) when I arrived at Markham Park to start a “typical day at Saints” … To find out the park was completely closed and subsequently every park in the entire state (country/world) was closed. As I was soon to find out, the COVID-19 pandemic (to a certain degree) had virtually turned the world upside-down. At that pivotal time, my job as a leader was to determine our course of action and how and what to communicate to our 1000+ families and children how the pandemic would impact and affect our opportunity to get together and play games, sports and activities, which children so desperately needed, ESPECIALLY at that time in history! Undoubtedly, a very tough season for all of us… But as I fast-forward 5 years to today… I see God’s faithful, loving hand was guiding us every step of the way. GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! Coach Rick Andreassen, Founder and President, SAINTS Homeschool P.E. and SAINTS International Sports Ministry I have found it difficult at times to separate my own identity with the institution I lead. When things are great at the seminary, I will feel far better about myself than when things are hard and stress/anxiety can come crashing in. Realizing how unhealthy (and wrong) this perspective is, I've been on a journey over the last couple years of growing more deeply in my faith and my identity in Christ. Crises still happen (more than I'd like), but when my soul and identity is at truly rest in Christ, then it's far easier to navigate those difficult moments. Dr. Scott Manor, President, Professor of Historical Theology, Knox Theological Seminary A moment where faith helped me through a leadership challenge was in 2020 when our church that just started a year earlier in a middle school, was no longer allowed to use that space due to COVID. I had my doubts when and if we would be able to meet again, but God allowed us to meet outdoors for a bit at the 4KIDS His Caring Place home and then when it was time to go back indoors, He provided a hotel for our church to meet. When business came back for the hotel, I again started to lose faith yet still had to show hope to the people and then God provided a movie theater which was a blessing. Even though I couldn’t see the day that God would provide a dedicated space for us, back in 2021, while my family were visiting a Chick Fil A, we saw a building with a For Lease sign that used to be a church in the shopping center and God provided this to be our current church home. We are still praying for a larger space to own, but it is by faith that God continues to help me believe, even when I don’t see what He has next for our church, and this is true in all of our lives as well. If we knew the next step in our lives, we wouldn’t need faith. We trust in a God who leads us so we can lead others by faith. Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Steve Daigle, Campus Pastor, Calvary Chapel Parkland The biggest moment was when at a local board meeting of CBMC South Florida in March 2018…our discussion as a group was how could we grow? How could we reach more in the marketplace in South Florida sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and discipling others as God commands us? Discussion wrapped around having a full-time staff Area Director for the 1st time in 25 years. The Holy Spirit filled my heart that day and I responded, “What About Me?” to the other board members. CBMC South Florida has never been the same growing and impacting the lives of others in the marketplace as God does his work through the ministry or mine as the Area Director…I am so blessed! Steve Solomon, Area Director, CBMC South Florida We just had a change in leadership here at 4KIDS last spring. While I wasn’t sure who God would bring to fill that spot, I was confident that He would bring the right person. I never lost Faith, I trusted God and I knew Romans 8:28 is and always will be true. Then He opened the door for Andrew Holmes, who had been here for the last six plus years to take the position as President. God Is Good, All The Time! And All The Time, God Is Good! Thomas L.
