Good News - August 2025

If I could order my most favorite meal ever… In all sincerity, I would order my mom’s homemade lasagna. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten anything that has ever topped that. Of course, we all know (our) mom’s cooking is always made with an extra dose of love!!! Coach Rick Andreassen, Founder and President, SAINTS Homeschool P.E. and SAINTS International Sports Ministry A full rack of barbeque ribs from Corky’s on Poplar Ave. in Menphis, Tenn. with collard greens, French fries and cornbread for the sides, and with an Arnold Palmer to drink! Romney C. Rogers, Managing Partner, Rogers, Morris & Ziegler LLP I'd be a fool not to have the full range of authentic Italian fare! Dr. Scott Manor, President; Professor Historical Theology, Knox Theological Seminary I love the thought of winning an all expenses paid vacation after just coming back from our family vacation at Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. For the final dinner on this vacation, I would choose hummus flown in from Israel. We had the blessing of traveling to Israel in 2012 and what they say is true: you never read the Bible the same again. There is something about the culture and the hummus bar we had there that makes me feel closer to the Holy Land. If we can have seconds, it would be sushi, which I can eat for any occasion! Steve Daigle, Campus Pastor, Calvary Chapel Parkland I always have missed good NY Pizza…Being from there with heavy competition…the best ever I had was the “White Pizza” made at the Full Moon Restaurant on Arthur Ave. in The Bronx…The Bronx’s “Little Italy.” I would love to have that flown in and eat for a week each night!!!!!! Steve Solomon, Area Director, CBMC South Florida We are ordering the Thanksgiving Feast produced by Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York. It cost a jaw-dropping, mind boggling $50,000. Nearly every part of The Thanksgiving Feast features imported ingredients or lavish concoctions made using pricey liquors. And it also took an immense amount of time and skill. I can’t forget the Golden Phoenix Cupcake, which costs a whopping $1,000. I can’t even imagine spending hundreds of $$, let alone thousands for a meal. This exercise allowed me to explore just how some rich people spend their money. It did leave me thinking about how that kind of money could go a long way in helping those in need.
