The Palacios Palace officially opened its courts and hosted its first Pickleball Charity Tournament on September 21st for Wondherful, Inc.™ , a non-profit dedicated to saving the lives of those who are struggling thru mental crisis. It was a sold-out, roundrobin tournament with two brackets on a beautiful, sunny day (PTL!). Many players brought their families to watch and enjoy free snacks, beverages, raffles and even chairmassages! All proceeds from registrations and sponsors were donated to Wondherful’s LifeBox initiative. Heather Palacios, founder of Wondherful, speaks at high schools, colleges, churches and businesses throughout the US to reach the nearly 1.8 million people who attempt suicide each year. Their mission is to reach these people who are struggling with a LIFEBOX™ in hopes that they will seek help and choose life. A LifeBox is a box of mental and spiritual resources along with personal tchotchkes and essentials to encourage the recipient to not give up. Every LifeBox is curated to the recipient, based on their mental affliction, age and gender. They are always free and priorityshipped to the recipient, because one more suicide is one too many.
