The music we experience throughout our lives has a way of influencing our emotions and triggering memories, whether it's a love song, smooth jazz or rock 'n' roll! Good News Wants to Know... What is the best concert you have ever attended? And who did you go with? My most memorable concert was The Rolling Stones in Jacksonville in 1975. I went with a recent acquaintance named Chad, and when he complained about what the traffic would be like going and coming, I suggested he rent a helicopter to fly us in and out. And that’s what we did. We both felt like celebrities, and the concert was fabulous! They ARE the world’s greatest rock’n roll band! H. Collins Forman, PA. I love and really appreciate old time Gospel quartet music, The Cathedrals/ Gaither Vocal Band. But the best concert I ever attended was the Chris Tomlin concert with the 4Kids team. Chris is passionate about foster care and he spoke on it before the concert. His music lifts up the name of Jesus and gives us a little taste of heaven. William “Bill” C. Davell, Director, Tripp Scott Dani and I got to see Arcade Fire at The Armory in Minneapolis last year. It was a ‘leave-the-kids-at-home’ trip and ended up being one of the best concerts and weekends of all-time. Don’t take it personally, Rivers. Bob Denison, President, Denison Yachting I love how music connects people. It doesn't matter where you come from or what you believe or don't believe m. It dissolves all differences and creates a common thread. It is truly wonderful. Technically the best concert I have seen was a jazz fusion collaborative of John Mclaughlin, Chick Corea and Paco De Lucia. It was spectacular and I was with my first love. Char Talmadge, Executive Director, Rescue Upstream As a lover of many types of music, I have seen many concerts ranging from jazz to pop, and from rock & roll to heavy metal. Having attended both nights of the Van Halen 1984 tour at the Hollywood Sportatorium, this is a difficult decision. However, I would have to say that the best concert that I have ever attended was The Police Synchronicity Tour at the Orange Bowl in Miami. Chip LaMarca, State Representative, Florida House District 100 I reflected on seeing the Rolling Stones, Animals, Jim Morrison, Pink Floyd, Janice Joplin, The Doors, Grateful Dead, etc. from that era. . .but no concert back then could compare to Christian Concerts where we worship our true Hero! Having been to lots of Christian concerts, I guess my favorite was outdoors in a small venue where Mercy Me led worship singing their newly-released, "I Can Only Imagine".with a full moon overhead. One of my spiritual daughters from Russia was with me and was also weeping.as we imagined seeing our Savior and Lord. Deborah Cusick, FAU Campus Volunteer, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship The best concert I’ve ever attended was Third Day in West Palm Beach. Beat out Monsters Of Rock, Rolling Stones, and Gaither Vocal Band because my brother attended w/ me and we talked about Jesus on the way home. Dennis DeMarois, Executive Director/CEO, Gathering Palm Beach County I've loved every Christian concert I've ever attended, promoted, or hosted. Two secular concerts came to mind, though. I saw the Beatles as a child with my girlfriend and her mother. I remember all the screaming girls and didn't quite understand it. This past Christmas my daughter and son-in-law gave us Eagles tickets, and they flew here from Texas to attend with us. It was fun to run into so many Christian friends there, too! Dolores King St. George, King Communications and GraceNet Media The best or most memorable concert I've ever attended was by one of my kids when he was in the middle school band. He played the cello. I have no memory of any songs that he played at that concert but just listening to my son play was music to my ears Fidel Gomez, Pastor I would have to say it was a Beach Boys concert primarily because it was my first and as a high schooler, I felt like a big boy. Not to mention I was mesmerized by the music! Fred Scarbrough, DVM, Founder Scarbrough Animal Hospital and HOPE South Florida I attended a “Simply Red” show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City with my wife Liz. Front row seats! Best show ever…..we sang along with every song. Gregg Wallick So much of our lives are encompassed by our emotions. Our emotions are directed by our hearts and our mind or built-in computer sends those memories, good and bad to both. I love all music except Rap. Not my thing! My favorite concert was Lady A and Chris Stapleton with my family and friends! Love songs, dance music and sad tunes all in one night!! Helen Wayner P.A., Century 21 Hansen Realty My first concert was one of the most impactful. I went with my youth group to see the Newsboys and it reminds me of the way God radically transformed my life as a young man. Jesse Carroccio, Station Manager, WRMB, Moody Radio The best concert I recently attended was Diana Ross' Revival Concert. I attended it with my girlfriends, each of them I have known for over 20 years. We had a blast, but the most moving moments were when Ms. Ross gave God all the glory for the blessings of her lifelong career and encouraged the audience to seek Him first. Loved that!
