“It’s better to be known BY someone than to be known AS someone.” James ‘JT’ Taylor, Managing Director, Automotive Retail, Truist Securities “Be skeptical about everything, and willing to believe anything.... thinking should not be strange.” - Dr. Michael Heiser Justus Martin, Staff Photographer, Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale It has been said that "Children are like wet cement, whatever touches them leaves an impression." So true! I was recently privileged to facilitate my beautiful granddaughter’s dedication to the Lord and as I held her, this quote was on my mind. Imagine all the love, kindness, care, wisdom and truth that we can impress on a young child's heart. I believe that our impressions on a child's heart happen not just by our words but, just as important, by our actions. The Word of the Lord tells us to "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Start leaving a permanent impression of Christ Jesus' love. Ken Kerrigan, Pastor, Calvary Chapel Cornerstone Church One of my favorite sayings is: "Whether we're standing on top of the mountain or down in the valley, keep moving in Jesus Name!” Larry Lacy, Pastor, The Answer Church “The best way to predict the future is to create it” – Abraham Lincoln Mark Doyle, Chief Executive Officer, Holy Cross Health Aquote I like to call a Drabik Proverb: "Jesus never said it was going to be easy, but He did say it was going to be worth it!" Dr. Mary Drabik, President, South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary There are several inspirational quotes I am fond of repeating. From the movie The Princess Bride: “Get used to disappointment.” From the TV Series The Chosen: “Get used to different.” And from Proverbs 16:9 and 16:3: “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps. Commit your activities to the Lord and your plans will be achieved.” MikeMcDermott, PA, Seniors Real Estate Specialist, The Keyes Company Run towards the problem or uncomfortable circumstance and stand firm in the Lord; otherwise, you’ll always be running away. Dr. Mike Rozenblum, Genesis Physical Medicine & Chiropractic One of our company’s core values is Quality. Quality is not only howwe perform, but it is also who we are. It rests in our actions, not just our words. Our beliefs dictate our behavior, and our behavior is delivering quality in everything we say and do. Milan Stefanovic, Chief Operations & Personal Lines Officer, Bass Underwriters So many great ones, but for me, I LOVE anything by Eleanor Roosevelt, and she had so many! I think what really resonates with me and how we grow as human beings is push outside of our comfort zones. “Do one thing every day that scares you.” Nancy Robin, Executive Director and CEO, Habitat for Humanity of Broward “More is caught than taught” is a quote I use frequently. I find as I work with children and adults they are always observing and watching how I am doing things despite the instruction. They seem to get more from observation. Oksana Horton, Artistic Director, Torch and Trumpet Theatre Co. My favorite quote (bible verse) that I live by is Psalm 37:25, where king David says, “I have been young, and now am old, yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Yes, this is my favorite quote and I have seen no exceptions to this true biblical quote. The righteous are those who have learned to put their trust in God and God alone, not man. O’Neal Dozier, Pastor, The Worldwide Christian Center In Sunday School we had to memorize the King James version of the 23rd Psalm. This has always been a comfort to me throughout my life. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. . . . . . .” It is always encouraging to have Bible verses to get you through times that are challenging. Patricia Colangelo, EdS, Lecturer, Professor, Trinity International University - Florida My favorite quote is from Philippians 3:14… the apostle Paul said: “Forgetting what is behind and reaching toward the goal…This one thing I do, ‘I PRESS ON’ for the prize of the upward calling which is in Christ Jesus.” It reminds me in the movie Finding Nemo where the little fish was swimming to the surface and just kept saying to itself, “Just keep swimming.” PRESSING ON TOWARD THE GOAL!
