Good News - May 2022

NEWS 49 May 2022 www.goodnewsfl.org Good News • South Florida Edition Prayer gatherings are being rallied throughout the country to observe the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The theme verse for this year’s observance is “Exalt the Lord who established us” from Colossians 2:6-7. This year the NDP Task Force is joining forces with Pray.com to host a prayer gathering for our nation through the National Day of Prayer Broadcast. The broadcast will be a 90 minute program that will begin at 8 p.m. at www.nationaldayofprayer.org/2022Broadcast. The broadcast will be hosted by NDP Task Force president, Kathy Branzell, and will feature: Chris Tomlin, Matthew West, Robert Morris, Dr. Ed Young, Alan Jackson, Jack Graham, Joni Eareckson Tada, Ronnie Floyd, Skip Heitzig, Miles McPherson, Mark Batterson, Samuel Rodriguez, Lecrae, Anne Graham-Lotz, Nick Hall, Beth Jones, Mike Kai, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer, and many other of our wellknown prayer partners. In addition, the Presidential Prayer Team will host a 24-hour national prayer room. This national prayer broadcast will feature prayers frommembers all across the country streaming throughout the day on IPrayRadio.org. In addition to praying for our leaders and country, it will also include prayer over the upcoming mid-term elections. James Bolthouse, President of The Presidential Prayer Team, said, "We are blessed to be leaders in calling for prayer for this nation, on this National Day of Prayer. Especially as the nation looks ahead to what God has in store for America. Of course, prayer should not be reserved for only a single day, and we offer motivations to be in prayer for this great nation every day of the year. But the National Day of Prayer is a vital cornerstone upon which all Americans can be united in one cause, turning to our Heavenly Father in prayer."
