Good News - July 2022

Summertime may have you dreaming of a change of pace. In your dreams, Good News Wants to Know... What TV show character (past or present) would be the most fun to change places with for a week? Mike Rowe would be the TV personality I would change jobs with for a week so as to be the host of Dirty Jobs and narrator for Deadliest Catch. Mike brought to light the importance and necessity of blue-collar jobs held by many Americans and has now provided resources to train these essential workers. William “Bill” C. Davell, Director, Tripp Scott PA Coach Beard. Would like to hang out with Ted Lasso for a week to find out if sincere and eternal optimism really works in the moments in between. Bob Denison, President, Denison Yachting My knee jerk reaction would be Jerry Seinfeld - because I'd love to be that funny for a day. It would be Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties. I was that kid in the 80's. Brian Mudd, Program Director, Host of The Morning Rush & The Brian Mudd Show, iHeartMedia Not much of a tv show watcher but the one thing that came to mind was Johnny Quest. Going way back. Maybe it was really the soundtrack... maybe his faithful companion Bandit. Char Talmadge, Director, Rescue Upstream Being a child of the 70’s and 80’s and a “car guy” I would have to say Michael Knight, the character that David Hasselhoff played in the show Knight Rider, starring the futuristic Trans Am named KITT. The other one that comes to mind would be Thomas Magnum, the P.I. played by Tom Sellick, who also drove his 1984 Ferrari 308 GTS around the Island of Oahu, solving crimes. Chip LaMarca, State Representative, Florida House District 100 Hahahaha! That’s a tough one, but I’ll say Dick Van Dyke. I had a crush on Mary Tyler Moore when I was a kid, and I would have welcomed the opportunity to work with her closely. Am I going to get in trouble for this answer? H. Collins Forman, Esq. It would be fun to be the host of the tv Nature program somewhere in the world- -maybe investigating and reporting on the snow monkeys in Jigokudani Monkey Park in Japan. Deborah Cusick, FAU Campus Volunteer, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship As a surfer girl when I was young, it might be fun to be Gidget for a week. As an adult, and not for fun because of the serious nature, it would fascinate me to be Madame Secretary for a week. Dolores King-St. George, President, King Communications and GraceNet Radiop I always enjoyed Michael Landon from Little House on the Prairie. How exciting would it be to take your family west in the early days of America not knowing what lie ahead. Finding ways to survive as a family, making friends and eventually building a community with the hope and dream of building a better life for the next generation. Don Campion, President, Banyan Air Service, Inc. Chuck Norris as Walker Texas Ranger Edwin Copeland, Director, Church United I would love to change places with Tom Selleck in Blue Bloods. He's Frank Regan. Frank is a man of deep convictions. He seems to always choose to do what is right no matter the cost. He seems to be the kind of man that is willing to pray the price for making the, "right" decision even if it goes against popular belief. Frank Regan loves his family and I so, so love that about him and, his family loves him back. Awesome. Frank Regan is a man of honor, respect and is willing to stand alone with his beliefs if need be. Reminds me of the three Hebrew young man in Daniel 3. Fidel Gomez, Pastor, Calvary Chapel Hollywood MacGyver - He was well liked and always wanted to help those in trouble! Fred Scarbrough, DVM, Founder, Scarbrough Animal Hospita and Hope South Florida Charlie, from Charlie’s Angels (Farrah Fawcet, Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith). No explanation needed! Gregg Wallick, President, Best Roofing Michael Learned (mother in The Waltons) was always a favorite. I love that era of simplicity. It was a a slower time of growth. God, family and love were first! I think in this messy world we all yearn for a little more of that… Helen Wayner P.A., Century 21 Hansen Realty I’d want to be Jack Bauer from 24. My commitment would only be a day, in that case. He runs around a lot, so I’d also get a good workout. James ‘JT’ Taylor, Managing Director, Head of Automotive Retail, Truist Securities Bob Denison Brian Mudd Char Talmadge Chip LaMarca H. Collins Forman Deborah Cusick Wants to Know… William “Bill” C. Davell
