Good News - April 2020
As we approach Easter, Good News Wants to Know... what Bible verse has recently been impactful for you personally, and why? Psalm 91:3 “For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.” NLT The world is in a panic mode right now and it’s up to us the Chris- tians to encourage them. When we share this verse and explain our faith to them, someone is going to get saved. Our faith in a nutshell (Jesus Christ left Heaven and came down to Earth to show us how to live and then die on the cross for us. Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day and have over 500 eye wit- nesses to His resurrection. Jesus went up to Heaven while the Disci- ples watched and then sent The Holy Spirit to live in all who believe and accept Him. We now await the rapture where we go up and see Jesus, or death and go see Jesus, either way we win.) Let us not join the world in panic, after all we are not of this world but Citizens of Heaven. Let everyone know that’s the reason we have peace in this very troubling time. Let the world know that they can’t have peace without The Prince of Peace Jesus. Trevor R. Wallace , Pastor, Jesus TeamMinistries Romans 5:17 “For if by oneman’s offense death reigned by one; muchmore they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” We are now convinced that whatever happened to the human race be- cause ofAdam’s fall, is far superseded in every possible proportion by the rev- elation of mankind’s inclusion in the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. The basis of our new life in Christ, is established in the divine exchange that took place on the cross. This mystery of God’s love plan, now reveals how one would die for all, and how simultaneously all indeed died in His death so that all could legally share in His glory! At the cross all of humanity were represented in the single act of one man and so disarm the claim of darkness and ig- norance over all people. Through this one act of obedience Christ delivered mankind from the power and authority of darkness. As history recorded the death and resurrec- tion of one individual, eternity recorded the repositioning of humanity. The conclusion is clear: it took just one offence to condemnmankind; one act of righteousness empowers the same mankind who now embrace this abundance of grace, and the gift of righteousness to reign in life! Alan Platt , Global Leader, Doxa Deo/CityChangers I am sooo excited about the verse God highlighted to me at the UN- LEASHED women’s event. There was no doubt that it was a sweet birthday kiss on the cheek from my Heavenly Father! This Word reminds me that the King of the universe is behind me as I serve Him with my whole life. So, as a reminder, I posted a nice word art graphic on my fridge where it has become a daily point of prayer to ENLARGE-STRETCH-LENGTHEN-& STRENGTHEN every area of my life: from Isaiah 45:2-5 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left...Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated...For your Maker is your husband— the LordAlmighty is His name — the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.” Dr. Andrea Hazim , President and Founder, Elev8Life Educational Foundation Romans 4:18—“When everything was hopeless,Abrahambelieved any- way, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.” (MSG) I have been encouraged by Abraham’s faith to trust God’s promises when I can’t see anymovement inwhat I’mdoing. William”Bill” C. Davell , Director, Tripp Scott Attorneys at Law Thank you for this opportunity to reflect on a favorite Bible verse. One that I always remember is probably the most famous for what it means, and it is also my birthday is John 3:16. However, the Bible verse that has had a profound impact on me, espe- cially in public service, is John 15:13, because it shows the debt of gratitude that we owe those who keep us safe and free as Americans. John 15:13 - “Greater love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Chip LaMarca , State Representative, Florida House District 93 Matthew 5: 3 – “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” When we realize our spiritual poverty and inability to live godly, ac- knowledging our absolute need for God, that is when God grows us and will use us for his great work in us, in others and in the wider world. H. Collins Forman, Jr ., P.A. ABible verse that has recently been impactful for me personally is 2 Tim- othy 1:7. My “lane” is leadership and communication. Something perhaps more contagious than a virus is a leader’s attitude. People are looking for lead- ership right now. There are a lot of voices vying for attention right now. If our voice is the same as the rest of the crowd, then we are not leading. Without downplaying or dismissing theweight of what all of us are going through right now, someone is watching to see what your reaction is going to be. My hope is that it’s a re- sponse not a reaction. Wants to Know… Trevor R. Wallace Alan Platt Dr. Andrea Hazim William “Bill” C. Davell Chip LaMarca Collins Forman Craig Huston
