Good News - March 2019

with great excitement I am looking forward to the release of this filmof an incredible evan- gelist whose life is an inspiringmessage of a “long obedience in the right direction,” sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ! I was able to screen it in advance and it is wonderful! God has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes! Psalm 118:23 Gita Santangelo , Community Prayer Partner The last movie I saw was a preview for “Run The Race,” produced by Robby and Tim Tebow. It had an excellent message about relationships and howwe can help others going through difficult times. It was very inspirational. Dr. Mary Drabik , President, South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary “The Music of Silence,” a movie based on the life of Andrea Bocelli, starringAntonio Ban- deras and Toby Sebastian. Quite inspirational and great music Miguel J. Rodriguez , CPA, PFS, CKA, Managing Partner, Rodriguez, Kinzbrunner & Company, LLP “Traffic” ...Michael Douglas, Benicio del Toro, Catherine Zeta-Jones; as a former DEA agent, working the supply side of the international drug trade, it is obvious that this "war" will never be won unless we concentrate on the demand side of the house. Omar Aleman , President, Aleman & Associates I recently watched an old favorite, “Braveheart,” the story of WilliamWallace, a 13th-cen- tury Scottish warrior who led the Scotts against the British in the first war of Scottish inde- pendence. Wallace’s passion for freedom, his unwavering commitment to his men and the cause and, most of all, his courage to stand tall in the face of impossible odds – and prevail – never fails to inspire me to be and do the same with respect to the call of God on my life. The Lord deserves nothing less. Oksana Horton , Artistic Director, Revelation Ministries The last goodmoviemy wife and I sawwas “Green book,” and themessage in themovie was that if a white person is prejudice, they could overcome racism if they overlook stereo- types. The stars in the movie were MahershalaAli and Viggo Mortensen. O’Neal Dozier , Pastor, Worldwide Christian Center My family and I watched “Christopher Robin,” starring Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell and the voice talent, JimCummings. One of thememorable parts of themovie was when Pooh asked, "What day is it?" Christopher Robin replies, "It's today." Pooh then says, "Oh, it's my favorite day” Reminiscent of Matthew 6:34 – “Therefore do not worry about tomor- row, for tomorrowwill worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” My hus- band was recently diagnosed with cancer, but each day we say to each other, we have today. It is our favorite day. Patricia Colangelo , EdS, Florida Director of Operations, Trinity International University Agreat movie I just saw was “First Man,” the story of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. I’ll never forget at 11 years old the vivid memory on July 20, 1969, as my family and I glued to our TV set, as well as all of America, if not all of the world… “One small step for man…One giant leap for mankind”! A lot like our walk with Christ!!!! I was inspired by the dedication of the United States Space Program, NASA, and the ded- ication of Neil Armstrong… It gave an insight into the dedication of him as a husband and a father as well! I was reminded of how awesome our God is, that He spoke this universe into existence... and He has us in the palm of His hand, and He knows the number of hairs upon our head... HE ISANAWESOME GOD!!! Coach Rick Andreassen , Founder/President, SAINTS International Sports Ministry and SAINTS of Florida Homeschool P.E. The last goodmoviemy son and I watchedwas “Aquaman,” starring JasonMomoa. Much like most superhero movies, Aquaman is called upon to save the planet from evil villains and pending destruction. A very interesting theme within the movie is Aquaman’s role as mediator between the human andAtlantean people. As a half-human and true heir to the Atlantian throne, Aquaman brings the two worlds together under his protection. While he definitely isn’t a Christ figure, the theme of mediator, reconciliation, and a true King is one that all our hearts long for. Robin Martin , Executive Director, Rebuilding Together Broward Candace and I just saw theTimTebow sponsoredChristian themedmovie “Run theRace” with Tanner Stine, Evan Hofer and Kristoffer Polaha. The message was a Romans 8:28 one of all things work together for good. The message was obviously encouraging and uplifting, and you could walk away feeling good. Romney C. Rogers , Managing Partner, Rogers Morris & Ziegler LLP The last good movie I saw was "Stan and Ollie." A good movie; I was very moved by it because when I was a little boy, my dad had a 16 millimeter projector and a collection of Laurel and Hardy films. He would take me down to the church by myself and just the two of us would watch Laurel and Hardy and laugh together. Just us; those were good times Samuel Lamerson , PhD, President/Professor of New Testament, Knox Theological Seminary “War Room” …Loved it! We must stay on our knees, trust in Him as His words do not re- turn void and even through tough times He never fails us. We just have to truly submit to Him and walk by faith not by just sight or emotion. Sue Trombino , Founder, Women Impacting the Nation “Sully,” starring TomHanks. Captain Chesley Sullenberger was aman of integrity and hu- mility and compassion and courage – straight from the focus of lifework leadership – cred- iting all involved for the successful evacuation of the aircraft and lives saved. He said, “we did our job” and that is enough. Favorite line: “Everything is unprecedented until it happens.” Susan Kassing , Community Leader The last movie my hubby, John, and I went to see was “Gosnell: The trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer.” Being the director of BrowardRight to Life, I needed to see themovie. To see what happened at the hands of Gosnell and to know that goes on every day in abortion clinics across America was heartbreaking. I already had a passion to speak for those who can't speak for themselves. This movie gave me even more of a conviction. I pray that themessagemotivated some to pray in front of abortion facilities and to volunteer at their local pregnancy center. May they ask God what they can do to lovingly share the message of life with others. Tewannah Aman , Executive Director, Broward County Right to Life “Paddington 2” – it starred Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington and Hugh Grant as the bad guy. It had a great story teaching children (and adults) that it is okay to be loyal, kind and nice. And that is always the better choice, rather than being mean or bullying others. It was a great example of Proverbs 3:3&4 – “Never let loyalty and Wants to Know… Dr. Mary Drabik Miguel J.
