The Grand Opening of the Village Square Phase II was recently held at the Courts of Village Square Courtyard, located at 738 SW 12th Avenue, Delray Beach. The ceremony began in the courtyard of the property, with a welcome and remarks and recognitions. This was fol- lowed by the cutting of the rib- bon at the entry of the Resource Center, where the attendees entered and were given a tour and offered re- freshments. Each attendee was given an engraved coffee mug in remembrance of this milestone. According to Mayor Petrolia, “All people within our community deserve to have adequate housing options and opportunities. While the Courts of Village Square ful- fills only a partial need, it is an- other step toward promoting housing affordability as a vital focus as our community con- tinues to grow and change. The values that are central to the City’s vision—diversity, in- clusivity, sustainability—are supported by providing a range of housing affordability.” The Courts at Village Square consists of 42 one- bedroom/one bath and 42 two-bedroom/two bath units. All 84 units are restricted to Senior 62 years and older. The units are Project Based Section 8 and are rented to el- igible families making 60% or less of area median income.
