Candy Cohn, CSA, Owner of Oasis Senior Advi- sors South Florida in Boca Raton, recently sponsored a Drum Circle at the Alzheimer’s Community Care adult day- care center in Delray Beach. According to Cohn, “Drum therapy is an ancient ap- proach that uses rhythm to promote healing and self-ex- pression. It has been used for thousands of years to create and maintain physical, mental, and spiritual health. These Alzheimer’s patients truly enjoy the rituals.” After helping her own par- ents move to a senior living community, Candy realized the complexity and emotional challenges involved in this transition and has since dedi- cated herself to serving others who needed to make these life changes. Candy is very active in the community, serv- ing as President of Elder Services Resource Network (ESRN), an organization of approximately 150 senior care professionals in South Florida; and participating in the Part- nership for Aging, Alzheimer's Association, Arthritis Founda- tion and the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce Health Council. Oasis Senior Advisors is a free service for seniors and families to help them identify the ‘right place’ senior living option whether it is assisted living, independent living or a memory care community.
