GoodNewsFL.org 31 JULY 2018 OUT AND ABOUT The fourth annual Water- way Soirée, the Children’s Diag- nostic & Treatment Center’s (CDTC) signature event, took place on the docks of BahiaMar Marina on May 19, raising a record $212,000 to benefit the Center’s programs and services to help families with childrenwith special healthcare needs. Local celebrities, yachting enthusiasts, members of the marine industry and prominent community and business lead- ers enjoyed an unforgettable evening aboard exploring luxuri- ous private yachts, savoring cus- tom-prepared dishes fromSouth Florida’s finest restaurants and celebrating with a high-energy Dockside Dessert Party. Ashley Brown of the Self- less Love Foundation and Barry & Susan Somerstein were hon- ored with the Annual Commu- nity Anchor Award for their philanthropic endeavors for CDTC and the children and families in South Florida. This year’s evening was also the in- augural event for CDTC’s new Anchor Society, a group of com- mitted donors who captured the spirit of generosity by pledging an annual gift of $5,000 or more in support of the Center’s Pri- mary Care Clinics and Dental Clinic.
