Habitat for Humanity of Broward gathered faith leaders on February 19 to celebrate the groundbreaking of Apostles Build 2026, a transformational partnership bringing together eighteen churches to help fund and build a home at 2711 NW 9th Court in Fort Lauderdale for a family in need of safe, affordable housing. Apostles Build is a transformational partnership where each church contributes financially and through volunteer time on the construction site, supporting the approximately $300,000 needed to build a new home for a deserving family, and providing in-kind support for Habitat’s Homeowner Education Classes and Youth Empowerment Program. Build days will take place on Saturdays from April through September, with volunteers working side-by-side. “Bringing together several congregations for a shared mission, shows what is possible when we move beyond our individual walls and work as one body,” said Robert Taylor, Habitat Broward Board Chair and a leader of the Apostles Build Committee.
