Good News Wants to Know... through your eyes, can you identify something specific that you see God doing in our community now? I see God powerfully at work in the next generation, our children and youth. More than ever, I sense a hunger for truth, a longing for purpose, and a willingness to look to God for answers. Through First Priority and Game Day, I get to witness it firsthand. Week after week, I see students on campus choosing to follow Jesus, connecting with local churches, getting baptized, and stepping boldly into a relationship with Jesus. Seeing that happen in our community gets me absolutely fired up! Chris Lane, President, First Priority of South Florida God is doing miracles in our community through the ministry of 4KIDS. The goal: A home for every child is a God goal. The addition of EPIC a few years back has made 4KIDS unique in the foster care world. Thank you, Andrew Holmes, Matt, Tom and the 4KIDS staff for your dedication and hard work. William “Bill” C. Davell, Director, Tripp Scott Chet Beers has been hitting the streets of Fort Lauderdale, in the most literal sense for decades. I’m not sure I’ve ever met anyone that looks, acts, and sound like Jesus. He’s the man that keeps the homeless fed, loved and looked after with no awards and no spotlight. When I wonder what Matthew 5 looks like in real life here in South Florida, I always think of Chet. Bob Denison, President, Denison Yachting I see God moving those who serve in obedience to His calling with a spirit of abundance to positions of visibility and impact. Char Talmadge, Executive Director, Rescue Upstream When I see children come out of a children’s hospital, like Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital or Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, after being treated for a life-threatening disease, I see God’s work through amazing physicians. There are everyday miracles all around us if we take the time to look. Chip LaMarca, State Representative, Florida House District 100 What I see God doing is this: God is moving his people (obviously not everyone but MANY people) to pray for revival and to find ways they can be more collaborative and effective in living out and promoting the gospel across ethnic, racial, religious, denominational and socio-economic lines. Come, Holy Spirit! H. Collins Forman, Esq. At Florida Atlantic University, and through First Priority Bible Clubs, I've joyfully observed a holy hunger in students for authentic, biblical Christianity that I haven't seen for years. God is on the move! Deborah Cusick, FAU Volunteer, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Through my eyes, I see God becoming a viable option to new generations that have been affected by the ‘craziness’ in our society. Given the current fascination with and availability of media and viral information, many people seem to get exhausted easily. This leads to the search for peace and a longing for stability. Dennis DeMarois, Executive Director/CEO, Gathering Palm Beach County I see more Christians from differing political or theological viewpoints coming together to talk and seek common ground than in recent years. Not enough. More work to be done. But God is moving in some hearts to be more unified. Dolores King St. George, King Communications and GraceNet Media In just a short period, God has brought back to life the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale, fostering spiritual growth within the community, sharing the love of Christ and providing a dynamic place of worship downtown. I also see increased curiosity among young people to include Christ in their lives. Don Campion, President, Banyan Air Service, and Team Lead, Egbe Medical Mission There are literally more than one hundred families sleeping in their cars in Broward County, and recently the city and county are working with Hope South Florida to establish a safe place for them to go. I sense the Holy Spirit at work! Dr. Fred Scarbrough, Founder, Scarbrough Animal Hospital and Hope South Florida The return of First Baptist Church downtown. Amazing the lives being changed initiated by the leadership team from Church by the Glades. Gregg Wallick, Wallick Family Office Where do I start? There is a true revival among our youth and young adults like I’ve never seen before! God is moving in their lives and hearts with a passion and purpose! After all the lies, struggles and depression since Covid our next generation is on fire for Truth and God!! I praise God for allowing me to see it. Helen Wayner P.A., Century 21 Hansen Realty I see God in the eyes of children going back to school this week. In their joy and anticipation, in their hope and eagerness…it is so inspiring for me to see and witness. And also, I see God in the love and compassion teachers and parents are showing to all of our community’s children starting a new chapter of life. Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President/CEO, Community Foundation of Broward I see a movement of Men looking for real discipleship. From CBMC, Godfident and the Gathering of Men, as well as others, God is moving and calling men to stand up! Jesse Carroccio, Community Impact Director, Moody Global Media William “Bill” C.
