34 SEPTEMBER 2025 Good News • South Florida Edition CHRISTIAN COLLEGE GUIDE 2025 From its humble beginnings in 1985, when founder Dr. Joseph Guadagnino followed a God-given vision to launch a small Bible institute, South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary (SFBC) has grown into a fully accredited institution serving students from over 43 different nations and 20 U.S. states. This September, SFBC will celebrate its 40th anniversary. This is a milestone that reflects not only decades of educational ministry but also a testimony of perseverance through adversity. Over the years, SFBC has faced challenges including limited resources, relocations, and financial strains from the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet through every obstacle, the college has remained steadfast in its mission; to equip Christian men and women for ministry through education. Today, SFBC stands strong with record enrollment, expanded programs, and a renewed vision under the leadership of the first Lady to ever serve as president of a college within the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), President Dr. Mary Drabik. Degree programs Having been accredited by the ABHE since 2013, SFBC offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in biblical studies, business, counseling, psychology, and more. The college has recently launched new initiatives including a Master of Business Administration, a developing Nursing program, and its first-ever athletics program. This fall, “The Rams” men’s basketball and men’s soccer teams begin their inaugural season under the guidance of accomplished coaches such as former Division I coach Mike Jarvis and two-time NBA champion Billy Thompson. SFBC also partners with local businesses and ministries like Faith Farm, where students completing recovery programs can earn college credits toward their degree. Its English for Academic Purposes program (EAP) attracts hundreds of international students, while the College Academy provides homeschoolers the opportunity to graduate high school with an associate degree already in hand. Through it all, one thing has remained constant – SFBC has proven to be about more than just academics. Their goal, according to Dr. Mary, is to develop the whole person; spirit, mind, and body. She states, "It’s not just about knowledge, but about transformation.” With over 1,000 alumni impacting various communities around the world, SFBC’s legacy of faithfulness continues to shape the future. As Dr. Guadagnino says, “Jesus is the founder and builder of this college.” Forty years later, that vision is alive and stronger than ever. To learn more, visit www.sfbc.edu.
