As we approach Thanksgiving, we’d like to introduce you to some of South Florida’s critically important charities and the passionate leaders who guide them. We’re thankful for the good work they’re doing in a wide variety of areas. Each one is making an eternal difference in our community in some way. This was our 9th Annual Leading Charities and Foundations photoshoot, hosted this year by Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, and we’re grateful for the 56 founders, CEOs and directors who joined us. The events began with a welcome reception and refreshments where executives could mix and mingle, encouraging collaborative connections within the community. Rick Weber, President of Sheridan House Family Ministries and Chairman of the Board of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, offered a few welcoming remarks. Desmond Cook, Area Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Chaplain of the Miami Dolphins, led the opening prayer. And each executive had an opportunity to introduce themselves along with the critical unique work they do. We urge you to learn more about them in the following pages and find a place where you can pitch in or offer encouragement. 2 Shelly Pond and Coach Rick Andreassen Photos by: Ariel Feldman
