30 JUNE 2025 Good News • South Florida Edition Celebrates Graduates 2025 Sha’Niel Murray Valedictorian Calvary Christian Academy Hollywood Sha’Niel will be attending the University of South Florida and aims to earn a degree in Architecture. She was named president of her school’s National Honor Society chapter. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society for High School Scholars. Sha’Niel had the privilege of being selected to attend the inaugural Faith and Nation Forum, hosted by the Herzog Foundation. Ashton Tully Valedictorian Calvary Christian Academy Fort Lauderdale Ashton Tully will be studying Business and Finance at the University of Florida. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a recipient of the AP Capstone Diploma. Ashton has competed at the national level in robotics and is also a varsity baseball letterman. In 2023, he placed first in the Florida State Stock Market Game. He has also earned the CCA STEM Endorsement. As an Eagle Scout, he has completed over 250 service hours during high school. Ashton plans to follow in his dad’s footsteps and start his own business, allowing him the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those around him. Franco Uzdavines Salutatorian Calvary Christian Academy Fort Lauderdale Franco Uzdavines has received numerous awards and honors during his academic career, including recognition as a National Merit Commended Scholar for his PSAT score, the AP Capstone Diploma, and the AP Scholar with Distinction award. He has completed over 250 service hours through international mission trips and active participation on various worship teams. In addition to these accomplishments, he served as president of the 2024–2025 chapter of the National Honor Society at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale. Franco will be attending the University of Florida this fall to study finance. Reginald Andre Salutatorian Calvary Christian Academy Hollywood Reginald founded CCA Hollywood’s first official club – a technology club supported by faculty, industry mentors, and his father’s cybersecurity firm, ARK Solvers. Through the club, he and his classmates explored ethical hacking and real-world problem-solving. He also completed the Mark Cuban Foundation’s AI Bootcamp, attended the Faith & Nation Forum, and served on several international mission trips through the Manuvo Project. Reginald plans to carry this momentum into his next chapter at the University of Central Florida, where he will major in Computer Science. Alexander Petros Valedictorian Cardinal Gibbons High School With a a GPA of 4.0 and HPA of 5.418, Alexander Petros is a 2x time Scholar Athlete, AP Scholar With Distinction, AP Scholar Award, AP Chemistry Award, Dual Enrollment Spanish IV Award, AP European History Award, PSAT National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Top Fundraiser Award ($71K+), National Honor Society Member, CGHS Excelsior Student, BCAA Scholar Athlete, Anthropology 1 Honors Award, English I Honors Award, 2024 Boys State Senator, Eric Whitacre Dedication Award for Chorus, 2021 Pinnacle Award (8th Grade), DECA Club State Qualifier and Miami-Herald Scholar Athlete Nominee. He plans to attend University of Florida Honors College. Andres Gomez de la Vega Salutatorian Cardinal Gibbons High School Andres Gomez de la Vega is the Salutatorian of Cardinal Gibbons’ Class of 2025 with a GPA of 3.965 and an HPA of 5.368. A National merit commended scholar, the Rensselaer medal, BCAA scholar athlete, and engineering Design Honors Student of the Year. He plans to attend the University of Florida. No man ever truly knows what he can do unless he dares to leap." - Euron Greyjoy Dillon Schneider Valedictorian Cardinal Newman High School Class of 2025 Valedictorian Dillon Schneider is a National Merit Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, and holds a 5.358 HPA. He is in National Honor Society and on the Principal’s Honor Roll. He captained the swim and weightlifting teams, won the Weightlifting Crusader Award, and is a 2-year varsity athlete with school records in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle. A district champ in Olympic weightlifting, he was also a CN announcer, sound tech, newspaper editor, Brown Book Award winner, Pathfinder nominee, and Medal of Excellence honoree. He will study Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida. Samuel Almazan Salutatorian Cardinal Newman High School Class of 2025 Salutatorian, Samuel Almazan, holds a 5.336 GPA and is a member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies, Honor Council, and Campus Ministry. A faith-filled leader, he has served as Altar Server, Eucharistic Minister, Catechist, and Retreat Leader. He contributed to the CN Newspaper and is a 4-time varsity swimmer, 4-time varsity weightlifter, 6-time district, 4time regional, and 2025 1A State Weightlifting Champion. He earned the Medal of Excellence in Social Studies, Harvard Book Award, Pathfinder nominee, and a National Army ROTC Scholarship. He will attend West Point to study History.
