However, real disappointment for me has always been losing my father before I was one year old. I also had the benefit of strong role models like my grandfather and my uncle/godfather who is a Catholic priest. They all helped shape me into the man I was growing up, and my wife has made me the man I am today. Since I didn't get to have children, Isaiah 54 is a description of my fulfilling life - that the barren woman will have more children than the married - and God has been faithful to give me scores of spiritual children worldwide. Also, as I learned to forgive, I had the opportunity to help other marriages survive and even thrive after infidelity. But the best result is, in my broken state, I met Jesus as my Savior and Lord!
