54 april 2025 www.goodnewsfl.org NEWS The Community Foundation of Broward embarked on its byinvitation-only 2025 Legacy Society Luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach. South Florida’s top community leaders, philanthropists and influencers were among the guests who sailed through the years with the Community Foundation of Broward. The annual event honors the Community Foundation of Broward’s Legacy Society members, visionaries who include the Community Foundation of Broward in their estate plans, creating a legacy of BOLD impact that spans generations and defines Broward’s future. During the event, guests experienced a blessing from Rabbi Chaim Slavaticki of the Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center and Friendship Circle and heard anecdotes from Kenny Tate, the owner of Bahia Mar and Community Foundation of Broward Fundholder. The Legacy Society was started in 2000 with just 19 members and gift commitments totaling $2 million. Today, it is nearly 196 members strong with more than $462 million in promises. The grants awarded through endowed charitable funds total nearly $67 million. Those funds will continue generating new grant dollars every year forever. The impact will never end.
