70 november 2024 www.goodnewsfl.org Good news • South Florida edition COMMUNITY NEWS Handy hosted their 8th Annual Homecoming event, presented by Hypower, on Saturday, October 5th at The Venue in Wilton Manors. The evening was full of music, fashion and extraterrestrial extravagance. Guests enjoyed entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, food stations and specialty cocktails at the adult-only soirée. The event, which raised over $115,000, supported Handy’s education program that ensures youth have the necessary resources and support in middle school, high school and throughout their post-secondary journey. Active members of the local community who were nominated to the 2024 Homecoming Court raised over $47,000 to support Handy’s mission through their individual campaigns. Eric Winn, Financial Advisor at Heller Private Wealth, and Anna Meyers, Sr. Regional Land Acquisitions Manager at Lennar, who raised the most funds, were crowned the Homecoming King and Queen during the event.
