COMMUNITY NEWS 50 MARCH 2024 www.goodnewsfl.org Good News • South Florida Edition In a society where many are trying to find love in all the wrong places, Metropolitan Baptist Church in Hollywood Florida hosted the Christ over Cupid youth event that brought biblical direction to our teens and young adults. It was held on February 16th as an alternative to Valentine’s Day. The keynote speaker was Tewannah Aman, founder of Guard Your Heart ministries and director of Broward Right to Life. Christian rappers Justin Martyr and his wife Aasha were there to rock the house. Their songs brought the crowd to their feet, as they sang “Take up your Cross, don’t lay it down.” James Hanna, youth pastor of Metropolitan Baptist said, “Tewannah’s presentation was highly informative and encouraging to our young people by shaping their views on relationships through Biblical truths, giving them a foundation to stand on in doing relationships God’s way.” We wrapped up with a Q&A time. Several individuals asked about dating. The response from the panel was a strong message that encouraged the attendees to make sure that Christ is at the center when developing friendships and relationships. “We need individuals who will inspire us to live for Jesus,” said Tewannah.
