COMMUNITY NEWS 56 JUNE 2024 www.goodnewsfl.org Good News • South Florida Edition Youth for Christ Miami and Broward hosted their “Be The Story” banquet at First Baptist Fort Lauderdale on May 2nd, where 400 guests were treated to a phenomenal message by former NFL quarterback and motivational speaker, Tim Tebow. A Miami banquet was also held in April, featuring inspirational student testimonies and breakdance performances by Catalyst hip-hop volunteers! Tia Diaz-Balart, Executive Director of Youth for Christ, said, "The success of both events has been truly uplifting, not only in raising awareness but also in providing vital support for the nearly 5,000 youths we serve across Miami and Broward counties. This will help ensure our missionaries can continue bringing the Good News of hope and joy to the youths in our underserved communities.” Miami & Broward Youth for Christ serves over 4,764 students each year through five programs: Juvenile Justice – working with at-risk youth who have been both inside the walls of detention centers and rehabilitative mentorships outside the walls; Catalyst – dedicated to reaching youth in the HipHop culture; Campus Life – lunch and breakfast clubs on school campuses; City Life KIX – after school programs located in underserved communities offering youth academic, social, emotional and spiritual support; and Cloud Life –an online ministry offering educational and engaging content to minister to youth in the Cloud.
