38 JUNE 2024 Good News • South Florida Edition Celebrates Graduates 2024 Alejandro De Santis Valedictorian St. Thomas Aquinas High School Alejandro De Santis is a Silver Knight Nominee, a National Hispanic Scholar, a National Merit Commended Scholar, an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Veritas Scholar, and a recipient of the Harvard University Prize Book Award. He is a Co-President of the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Co-President of the STEM Club, Captain of the Science Olympiad Team, Secretary of the Science National Honor Society, Vice President of the National Spanish Honor Society, and a member of the National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, National Honor Society, and National Athletic Honor Society. He has been involved in Student Council and the Varsity Soccer Team for three years. He was named an Academic All- American Honorable Mention, and a BCAA Scholar Athlete. Alejandro plans to attend Duke University, majoring in biomedical engineering. Anthony Tivda Salutatorian St. Thomas Aquinas High School Anthony Tivda is a Silver Knight nominee in Mathematics, a Veritas Scholar, a National Merit Commended student, an AP Scholar with Distinction, an introductory member of the St. Thomas’s AP Capstone program. He is a member of the English Honor Society, the Science Honor Society, the Vice President of the Mathematics Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Treasurer of the Social Studies Honor Society. Rho Kappa Honor Society. He is part of the leadership council for the National Honor Society. Anthony is part of our STEM club where he competed at the Science Olympiad at which he placed in the top 3 in all of his events and at Regional Qualifiers. Anthony plans to attend University of Florida Honors College, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Ethan Cadovius Salutatorian Sheridan Hills Christian School Ethan Cadovius is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024 and has attended Sheridan Hills Christian School since the 9th grade. He has an exceptional talent for stage performance, having taken lead roles in numerous school productions, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Sound of Music, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Anne of Green Gables. Additionally, Ethan has demonstrated his leadership skills by serving as the President of the House of Wilberforce for three years and being a member of the National Honor Society. He will be pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida. Ethan is a member of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church and is graduating with a 4.72 GPA. Sarah Cepeda Valedictorian Sheridan Hills Christian School Sarah Cepeda, Valedictorian, has attended Sheridan Hills Christian School since 7th grade and earned Salutatorian of her 8th grade class in 2020. She has been an integral member of the Varsity Girls Soccer Team, including the 2023 district championships. Sarah completed a biomedical internship on a Pfizer project as a junior, worked as a lifeguard for the past two years, and took on leadership roles in the House of Elliot and performances in the House lip sync. Most importantly, Sarah has been growing in her faith attending Sheridan Hills Baptist Church and was baptized this year. Sarah is graduating with a 4.85 GPA and will attend the University of Florida to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Rylee Zell Valedictorian Sheridan Hills Christian School Rylee Zell, Valedictorian, has been an outstanding student at Sheridan Hills Christian School since pre-school. Rylee is a talented equestrian, competing at the regional and national level in the Arabian Horse Association. She is a 12-time National Champion and 5-time Reserve National Champion in various English riding disciplines and travels nationally to show Arabian horses. Rylee has demonstrated a strong commitment to her studies earning a full scholarship for academics and cross-country to the College of Central Florida where she will study Applied Science in Business and Organizational Management specializing in Equine Studies. She finished her SHCS career with a 4.85 GPA. Joyce Maniquis Valedictorian The King’s Academy Joyce Maniquis has attended The King’s Academy for 13 years and is graduating with a 4.79 WGPA. Joyce is a member of the National Honor Society and 5 other honor societies. She served as the president of Women in STEM, vice president of Math National Honor Society, co-captain of Peer Tutoring, treasurer of King’s Service Organization, and Alto section leader in His People. She was awarded College Board’s AP Scholar with Distinction. She will graduate with the DiMino Engineering and Technology program of distinction in technology. Joyce will attend the University of Florida and major in computer science. Joshua Arockiasamy Salutatorian The King’s Academy Joshua graduates with a 4.67 WGPA. He has earned College Board's AP Scholar with Distinction and is a National Merit Commended Scholar. Joshua is a member of the National Honor Society and four other honor societies. He served as an officer of the King’s Service Organization and has been a saxophone player in all of TKA's instrumental ensembles. He will graduate with the DiMino Engineering and Technology distinction in Technology and The Smith Family Conservatory of the Arts distinction in Instrumental Arts. Joshua will attend the University of Florida and major in computer science.
