This Christmas season, the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., invites you to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior whose arrival transformed history. From November 18, 2024, through January 6, 2025, the museum offers something for everyone, from soul-stirring concerts and hands-on workshops to engaging storytelling and a festive Christmas Market. A Grand Hall of festive delights Step into the heart of the Museum, where the Grand Hall becomes a free-access hub of holiday cheer. Visitors can sip warm drinks at the café, peruse the curated Christmas Market for unique gifts, and be serenaded by local choirs spreading joy through traditional carols. The hallmark of the Hall is its interactive storytelling, where the nativity story from the Gospels comes alive daily at 3:00 p.m., celebrating the unifying spirit of Christmas across cultures. Concerts at the World Stage Theater The museum’s World Stage Theater hosts world-class performances, showcasing nostalgic and new music of the holidays. Notable highlights include: • Together for Christmas (Dec 6-7): Join brother-and-sister duo Michael Tait and Lynda Tait Randle for a festive night of Christmas classics, blending gospel, jazz, classical and modern sounds. • An Irish Christmas (Dec 12-14): Ireland’s own, Keith and Kristyn Getty share beloved hymns, including “In Christ Alone,” lifting hearts in worship during this festive season. • Everlasting Light (Dec 19-21): This musical journey, complete with orchestra and choir, illuminates the biblical story of Christmas, celebrating the Savior who brought light to the world. Hands-on holiday creativity Families can dive into the spirit of the season with interactive workshops. Craft a Nativity scene, personalize ornaments, or even step into the pages of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in an immersive activity that promises laughter and inspiration while exploring the Christian themes of redemption and grace woven throughout Charles Dickens’ classic tale. Kids and adults alike will delight in these joyful and educational experiences. Biblical insights and stories of faith Discover the rich biblical history and Christian traditions surrounding Christmas. Join curators for enlightening talks like “Who Was St. Nicholas” or explore the role of women in the Nativity story with Dandi Daley Mackall’s reading of Three Wise Women on December 11. History and faith in harmony For history enthusiasts, curated talks and living history sessions explore Christmas traditions, biblical narratives from the story of St. Nicholas to the miracle of Hanukkah. Highlights include a "Lunch & Learn" with author Dandi Daley Mackall on December 11, where she reimagines the Nativity through the eyes of "Three Wise Women."
