It's hard to believe that Big Cardio celebrated its 15th year of bringing the community together through a 5K, fitness, sports and fun. The charity event is produced and benefits Big Children’s Foundation, which serves teens in foster group homes and shelters. This year was extra special as three new activities were added: 1-Mile Prayer Walk, a Pickleball Tournament, and Renegade Games — a competitive team relay race through an obstacle course. The activities brought excitement and freshness to the event along with great opportunities for newchurchand corporate partners. Faith partners — Church of God in Cooper City and Community Christian Church in Tamarac — led dozens of walkers in the 1-Mile Prayer Walk, while Pompano’s Mr. Pickleball, Sean Rogers, led several teams through a Pickleball Tournament. Trainers from The Camp Transformation Center inDaviedidaspectacular job leading eight teams through the obstacle course at the inaugural Renegade Games. Theexcitement continuedas the 5Ksawa record top7slotsbeing won by women! Overall 5K winner and top femalewasEmily Daycock with a time of 20:17, and the top male winner was EulerOrtegawitha timeof 26:44. Corporate Team Johnson & Johnson had the largest team with 53 members, while Good News’ very own, Les Feldman, took top fundraiser.
