Good News - January 2023

If I had a 30 second commercial during the Super Bowl. I would put up big white letters with black background that says: “DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU?” And then just let 25 seconds run by (which is a very long time during the Super Bowl for people to look at one question on their TV screen)… And then for the last 5 seconds I would put on the screen: “FOR GOD SO LOVES YOU HE GAVE HIS SON JESUS,” John 3:16 And then an 800-number to call for PRAYER. Acompletely silent commercial…Silence is ‘VERYLOUD’ during the Super Bowl Coach Rick Andreassen, founder and president, SAINTS Homeschool P.E. and SAINTS International Sports Ministry It always seems like the best Super Bowl commercials are ones that come at the beginning of the game when most people are really paying attention because they know what it cost to buy a 30 second slot, and they want to see what the ad world has to offer. So I would want my ad to be the first or second one out of the box. Because our culture seems so polarized with viewpoints, a “feel good” message that could appeal to most would be my choice of ads. A group of little cute kids dressed in their team jerseys with their hands in various Lays potato chip bags and mouths full of chips, all sitting on the couch watching the game and telling each other why they like “their kind” the best, might be a winner for Frito Lay! Romney C. Rogers, Managing Partner, Rogers Morris & Ziegler LLP If I were given a 30 second ad slot during the Super Bowl with a $6.5 million value, I would have nothing more important to say than to share the Gospel of Jesus and how a relationship with Jesus changes everything. I would want people to know that the day to accept Him into their lives is today no matter what they have been through. I would tell them to get into a good church, pray and to be in the Word of God daily with the tagline of John 3:16. A message like that, you cannot put a price tag on. Steve Daigle, Campus Pastor, Calvary Chapel Parkland Message: In this world we encounter challenges, issues, and problems each and every day. Instead of looking at each other or other resources to help…look up!!! God Is Waiting!!! He has all your answers and the peace that is beyond our understanding. God Knows and Understands!!! Steve Solomon, Area Director, CBMC South Florida I would talk about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to accept him as your personal Lord and Savior and that we need to put Him back into our every day lives and start looking to him to solve our problems. Purchasing and buying more things will not fulfill you or satisfy you. It may for a moment but then you’ll be looking again for what satisfies you and fills you up, and you will notice that nothing will, except for the love of Christ. We need as individuals and as a country to start focusing on things that are true, noble, right, just, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. Sue Trombino, Founder and President, Women Impacting the Nation I would create a commercial that showed the latest technology on the 3-D images of an unborn child in the womb, which reveal the amazing humanity of God’s intricate design. Christ came into this world as a baby. It would emphasize the difference one person makes in the world. And encourage them to choose life for their unborn child. Psalm 139:13-16. Tewannah Aman, Executive Director, Broward County Right to Life I would put together a powerful 30 second ad showing every branch of our beloved Military - from the Marines to the Air Force - play the National Anthem and show how much each branch of the Military loves and respects our American flag, with all of them standing at attention...Then, after that, show the antiAmerican militant and disgraced NFL player, Colin Kaepernick, kneeling during the National Anthem while wearing a Fidel Castro t-shirt, and put these words across the screen: Who do you support? The mighty American military who adores our American Flag or the despicable NFL whose spokesperson hates America and the American flag? Support the Military!! Boycott the NFL!!
