McCarthy High School ANational Merit Scholar, anAP Scholar with Distinction, an Excelsior Scholar, and a member of various honor societies: NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, English, Science- President, Social Studies-Vice President, and Spanish- Treasurer. She was involved in several clubs including Key Club, International Club, Book Club, Guitar Ensem- ble, and also volunteered at her church. Adriana has a strong interest in space exploration and will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a career in Aeronautical Engineering. Cali Hinesley Salutatorian Archbishop Edward A. She was Student Government Executive Board Secretary and involved in Model UN, Cappies, Peer Ministry, the Girl Scouts, and selected to attend the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leader- ship Conference in 2019. Cali will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a career in Global Health. Daniel Fellows Valedictorian Berean Christian School Daniel Shawn Fellows II has attended Berean Chris- tian School for 14 years. Daniel has participated in Varsity Football for four years, Varsity Track and Field for two years, and Varsity Basketball for one year. He has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and co-president for one year. Daniel has also been a member of both Own It and Spiritual Prov- idence for one year. He has been a Sea Cadet since seventh grade, earning the highest rank of Chief Petty Officer. Academically, Daniel has earned the title of Valedictorian for the Class of 2021. He plans to at- tend the United States Naval Academy and study Nuclear Engineering, then serve as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Kiara Arjune Salutatorian Berean Christian School Kiara Anjali Arjune has attended Berean Christian School for 12 years. Kiara has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and President her senior year. She has been a member of Student Government for three years and Secretary for two. Kiara has been heavily involved in Theater for five years, holding the position of Assistant Director and House Manager. Academically, she earned the title of Salutatorian for the Class of 2021, AP Scholar her junior year, and participated in the Harvard Summer School Pre-College Program during the summer of 2019. Kiara plans to major in Neuroscience at the University of Miami, working towards obtaining her Doctorate in the same field. Camila Goizueta Valedictorian Atlantic Christian Academy Camila Goizueta has been a part of the Student Coun- cil, National Honor Society, and Cheerleading and held leadership positions within each. Her desire to pursue nursing encouraged us as a school to begin a medical endorsement program from which she graduated as the first class to earn this endorsement. Involved in the theatre arts, she most recently helped behind the scenes with production design and choreography. Camila received the Chick-fil- A remarkable Scholarship, Alliance of Women Executives Scholarship, Edward T. Bedford Foundation Scholarship, Sprit of Atlantic Scholarship, and Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. She plans to study nursing at Florida Atlantic University. Julissa Fontanez Salutatorian Atlantic Christian Academy Julissa came to this country in middle school and has not only overcome having to learn a new language but has soared while doing so. Julissa took each challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. Her final words to her underclassmen were "opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door" (Kyle Chandler). She is an inspiration to her classmates and to all who are overcoming similar life changes. Julissa through the years was a part of the Key Club, National Honor Society, and church leadership. She plans to study Forensics and has earned scholarships to both Lynn University and Nova Southeastern. Outstanding High School Graduates 2021 Joshua Pilote Valedictorian Calvary Christian Academy-Fort Lauderdale Joshua Pilote will be studying Medical Molecular Biol- ogy at Oral Roberts University —a prominent Christian university in Oklahoma. He was named a recipient of ORU's Quest Whole Leader Scholarship and an Hon- ors Fellow. Some experiences that have prepared him for a career in medicine include: CCA's STEM endorse- ment program, CCA's HOSA – Future Health Profes- sionals club, NSU’s Medical Explorers Program, and working on COVID-19 trials as a research assistant. Additionally, Pilote has com- pleted 300+ hours of community service, competitively swam for 7 years, and earned a perfect score on the ACT. Matthew Barnes Salutatorian Calvary Christian Academy-Fort Lauderdale Matthew Barnes received a full-ride to the University of Florida as a recipient of the Benacquisto Scholarship. He plans to study economics and one day become an attorney. Barnes was named a National Merit Scholar, National Hispanic Scholar, an AP Scholar with Distinc- tion, and earned a perfect score on the ACT. Addition- ally, he has served as Varsity Swim Captain, was named a 2021 Miami Herald Scholar Athlete, and started his own successful tutoring business. He has actively served his community, earning 700+ service hours, and has shared the hope of Jesus on eight interna- tional mission trips.
