Those of us at the Good News are tasked to bring the word of God in the most upbeat and encouraging manner we can, so we pray out loud through our pages . I try and guide the effort by engaging our community to grow the kingdom and go be- yond simply preaching to the choir already in place. I have been questioned is that our role or to just stay the course? Well, if you believe the messaging, why wouldn’t you want to actively reach the unsaved by perhaps unconventional means? We would like you to know the people living the word as well as those carrying the word, to encourage more disciples to join in understanding, and as one of our partner churches has emblazoned on its lobby wall, “No perfect people allowed,” amen? There are four men who preach on nature’s land making young student athletes fol- lowers of Jesus Christ on the athletic fields in our community. Featured as our cover story: Fellowship of ChristianAthletes (FCA) - “To see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.” The Mission Statement: “To present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.” South Florida is truly blessed to have these godly men to guide, mentor and pray over and with our student ath- letes, and bring them closer to the Lord. The impact they are each making is life changing. For many years I’ve known and worked with Mike Blanc , University of Miami Campus Director and football team Chaplain. Mike made it into the NFL after winning the National Championship at Auburn, but you’d never know that side of him because of his humble servant’s heart, and Desmond Cook , SouthAtlantic Multi Area Director and an ac- ademic and athletic standout at Stanford University; what more can I say than I love these men and the heart they have for the Lord (I am pictured here with whom I call my identical twin brothers). They are all-in. Greg Anderson I’ve known as Pastor at Calvary Fort Lauderdale and is now the Metro-Director Palm Beach County, a forever happy on-fire humble man of God, and I’m privileged by his friendship.
