Our gift, bring- ing the much needed exposure for our local South Florida Charities that mostly work behind the scenes and toil in anonymity but desperately need volunteers, funding as- sistance and prayers. Life as we knew it has not been normal, so understanding that theAnnual Thanks- giving Issue, for us, begins in June because it takes a good four months of solid work to secure the photo location, send out, follow up and process the invitations, and, and, and....which is highly labor intensive, and in June almost everyone was closed and in bunker mentality....and learning that the Broward Center For The Performing Arts, the host site for our GN photo shoot for the first three years was, and still is closed! We were not going to buckle to the challenge or skip this year; it's too important. We updated our contact files, locating current addresses for people working remotely wherever possible, created and sent out our large priority mail invitation packets hoping the mailmen would find or hunt down our recipients, in- vitations without specific date OR location, just "late September or early October " and prayed. We began hunting for a Photo Shoot location; who would open for us in late September or early October? Our prayers were answered when First Baptist Fort Lauderdale stepped up and in, with open arms. We now had a location, date and time and began confirming back to each RSVP who intimated we will show up, face-mask in hand, when you give us the place and date. Praise God. Here is the fun shot of everyone wearing their masks at the moment the lighting was right, everyone was social seat distanced like a checkerboard by row, and master photographer Justus Martin said, "OK everyone, please take off your masks, hold your breath and SMILE, and I'll give the signal you can put your masks back on." We are grateful to the stellar 55 CEO's, Executive Directors or Founders, in our audience of peers , who showed up and are included in this Forth Annual Thanksgiving Edition, and to our readers, we hope you support and enjoy their mission statements; these are exceptional people and organizations! I would be remiss by not giving a special tip of the hat to our editor, Shelly Pond , who worked diligently and un- deterred while the Lord worked his miracles on her.
