“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (Psalm 18:2). I admit that I’ve wrestled with 'surrender early' and put all my faith in the Lord; it's in His hands. In fact for me it's a foreign con- cept if we want total transparency here. I get that 'surrender' is not the weakness now that I once thought it was. For me, un- derstanding that in context of accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I put my faith and worries in Him, that He's got this, and it frees up my mind to just accept my fate – that it's God’s will, not mine. Wow. Let go of the rope? But I've held it so tightly. I know my son, I'm told. It's ok. As we live life, we experience constant change. We as a society are resilient. We adapt to change and in fact we work, we help create change? But when we pause to catch our breath, we understand that it's His creation, and He breathes life into the winds of change, not us. Is this God’s wink to us? He created us to be wonderfully differ- ent, and we get that nudge, yes God has a plan for us... go, do what I've prepared you for my son. It's often said 'we live in interesting times.' "May you live in interesting times" is an English expression , which purports to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse . While seemingly a blessing, the expression is normally used ironically; life is better in "uninteresting times" of peace and tranquility than in "interesting" ones, which are usually times of trouble. Despite being so common in English as to be known as the "Chinese curse," the saying is apocryphal , and no actual Chinese source has ever been produced. I embrace change. I find change fascinating. I find change necessary for I do not covet a job working in a widget factory. The times we are living in are exciting; we see life unfolding in real time right before our eyes, and right now we seem to be on a worldwide pause as HE says take a break, shut it down, just sit there, think... what is important here my children? Precious life is fleeting, and maybe we haven't spent enough time with father, and he wants to talk to us, but we were preoccupied with life. So just take a pause, surrender early and have faith that He's got this. Regroup but always remember the wink, it’s in His time frame. - Les PUBLISHER 4 MAY 2020 www.goodnewsfl.org Good News • South Florida Edition South Florida Edition • Good News • May 2020 • Volume 22, Issue 2 In His Time - Leslie J.
