On Wednesday, December 11, 2019, we were in the Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C., at invitation of the Office of the Vice President of the United States Mike Pence. And you may ask, why? Well, I was invited by the proverbial “friend of the friend” to attend a Bible study, and having so many friends to whom I owe so much for pouring their hearts of faith into my being these past six and a half years... if they want me, they have to welcome my friends so to speak. That was my arrogance creeping to the surface before becoming a believer, I told myself... So after exhaustive Secret Service vetting in very minute detail, including an inquiry into "What's this hyphen on this name?" …we were cleared for a Tuesday flight, destination Washington, D.C., for a Wednesday noon visit at the White House, Vice President’s office, Eisenhower Building! For me it was a memory of a lifetime sitting in a Bible Study in THAT location with some of my special and dearest friends who help me occupy my new life: together. It was beyond expectations and quite a departure from my Tuesday night Stephan Tchividjian Bible Study, more reminiscent of a Jimi Hendrix experience. :)) We were then blessed with a short tour of the building and off to – what else? – The Museum of the Bible (MOB) for an unbelievable whirlwind, expertly-guided tour, thanks to Ken McKenzie , MOB CEO. We could have used about four more days to fully appreciate the MOB, but we were on a short hop mission so that will be a more complete future trip, no doubt! Then off to Reagan National Airport to complete a 27 hour trip. Oh my, pinch me.... This month we have Franklin Graham gracing the cover of the January GOOD NEWS in his ambitious six-city Florida tour and GN Editor Shelly Pond and I were fortunate to interview Reverend Graham for this month's feature article, enjoy!
