Good News - February 2020
Serving in a faith-based health ministry, I witness multiple acts of kindness, daily. Holy Cross associates seek out opportunity to share God’s love with everyone we serve. From simple wayfinding assistance to the most complex medical situa- tions, this place is filled with people who live out the Golden Rule! Scott R. Ford, MA, CFRE, Vice President, Development &Marketing, Holy Cross Hospital I recently was at Walmart, when a woman began opening up about her strug- gles. It was God's timing. I felt led to give her a little money to help with groceries. She was so thankful. I invited her to Calvary Chapel, the church my hubby and I at- tend. The next morning, I had a text and voice message. I didn't recognize the num- ber. The woman appreciated my help so much she was overflowing with gratitude. It was a huge blessing. She promised to attend Calvary with us. My act of kindness precipitated such appreciation that I was moved by her kindness. And, it made me want to pray for the Holy Spirit to lead me to others that need encouragement. What a blessing to be an instrument in God's hands. It's His timing and His doing! Tewannah Aman, Executive Director, Broward Right to Life This summer we hosted a wedding in our barn. The Bride was an always giv- ing, forever caring, fun woman who had donated her kidney to a complete stranger! Having read about this man in need through the local paper in our little town she started to pray and in her words told me “the Lord led me to give my kidney” . Now they are dear friends and the thankful gentleman is living a full and happy longer life as an active Senior & honored guest at her wedding celebration! My eyes scanned the barn, the evidence of this Bride’s kindness, and focused on a manger crying out that our “God is Love” 1John 4:8. “Glory in the heights above to God, and on earth peace goodwill toward men.” Luke 2:14 Yep, that kindness stopped me in my tracks. Virlee “Vee” Stepelton , Ministry Advocate One of our church ministers was in desperate need of a kidney transplant, and our head deacon urged our men to be tested for compatibility. Everyone went, but he was the only one who tested as a possible donor. The free gift of life he willingly gave was Christlike in its kindness. Dr. Warren A.
