Good News - May 2019

GoodNewsFL.org 23 MAY 2019 OUT AND ABOUT Hope Women’s Centers hosted a spectacular 2019 Legacy Partners Dinner on April 12 at Pier-66 Hotel and Marina. The night was clas- sic and elegant with 500 people in attendance. Abby Johnson, former Director of Planned Parenthood and nationally best-selling author of “Unplanned” was the keynote speaker. The presi- dent of the board, Judy Ryan honored former Exec- utive Directors, including Nancy McDonald, Margy Richardson and Dottie Wobb. The baton of Execu- tive Director was then passed to Ariana Reid. They highlighted Hope Women’s Centers impact in 2018 and cast the vision for 2019. Because of those that fi- nancially gave and the work of staff and volunteers who encourage and equip women and men to make in- formed decisions regarding unplanned pregnancies every day, over 1600 (85%) of patients changed their minds about abortion in 2018 after visiting Hope Women’s Centers. That number jumps to 90% when the father sees his baby dur- ing the ultrasound. As the or- ganizations moves forward in 2019, they are looking to grow their Men of Hope team. If you or someone you know is interested in volun- teering, contact them at friendsofhope.org . They encourage you to speak hope, share truth and protect life. “No one can do everything but everyone can do something.” –Max Lu- cado.
