The ability to laugh to- gether is important and pro- found. Laughter allows us to let our guard down and opens us up to hear a deeper message. That’s why Comedienne Dede Lomenick, founder of The Devine MOMedy says, “The ultimate joy is to communicate God’s message to an audi- ence and do it in a way that is funny and engaging.” She added, “I also LOVE when I’m in front of a secular crowd and I have them laugh- ing hard and then they find out that I’m a pastor’s wife. Not only that, but I’m a Christian too! People seem shocked that a Christian can be funny. It seems crazy to me that the people who have the greatest reason to be filled with joy - are not known as the fun crowd. As believers, we are blessed to know the True Source of Joy - let’s get out there and spread the joy!!” For the past two years the MOMs (moms on a mission) ministry at Rio Vista Commu- nity Church has put together a comedy event for everyone to come to.
