OUT AND ABOUT 34 MARCH 2019 Good News • South Florida Edition Thank You First Respon- der, Inc. and Broward County Commissioner Tim Ryan launched a campaign to offer a Mental Health First Aid train- ing course to First Responders at BrandStar Studios located in Deerfield Beach, February 15, 2019. The Town Hall style meet- ing featured remarks by Com- missioner Tim Ryan, Sheriff Gregory Tony, a MHFA course overview by retired First Re- sponder, Deputy Fire Chief, Michael Allora, a live perform- ance by Singer-Songwriter Matt Jackson and the presen- tation of the First Annual Doug Stepelton “Culture of Thank You” Award, as well as re- marks from Florida State Rep- resentative Chip LaMarca. The GEO Group, through its Foundation, will be an- nounced as a sponsor of the Inaugural eight (8) hour train- ing course on Mental Health First Aid, for a Class of 20 First Responders taught by Michael Allora.
