Keller Williams associ- ates chose to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, Keller Williams' annual day of service dedicated to renewing, energizing and do- nating to local communities on Thursday, May 9, 2019. As part of the RED Day ef- fort, close to 100 associates from Keller Williams South Florida Commercial Group (KW) spent the day at HOPE SouthFlorida locatedat 1100N. Andrews Ave. in Fort Laud- erdale. A sea of Red shirts sur- rounded the21,000-square-foot former Methodist church built in 1964, as volunteers came to beautify the façade of the run- down building. "RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others," said Gerry Con- trino, Realtor and market leader for the KW South Florida Commercial Group. “This year, we have helped transform HOPE South Florida’s home, an organiza- tion that is on the forefront of helping diminish homeless- ness in Broward County and helped revitalize a community.” Keller Williams closes their offices for this day dedi- cated to service, and Contrino said they chose South Florida because “we saw the need they have and we really appre- ciate the way that HOPE South Florida is giving back to the elderly and the homeless. It’s really fantastic.” Another nonprofit, Rebuild- ing Broward Together, which improves the homes and lives of low-income homeowners, also joined in the effort. Robin Martin, executive director of Re- buildingTogether Broward, con- tributed more than 30 ladders as well as other necessary painting tools to complete the project and spent the day vol- unteering at the site. “We like to help nonprofits serve our com- munity better,” Martin said. HOPE South Florida is a Christian-based non-profit or- ganization, operating since 1995, that provides crisis and rapid re-housing assistance and support services to thou- sands of homeless families, veterans and individuals. Their mission is to provide hope for homeless and hurting families through transformational pro- grams and partnerships with the Christian community. However, Dr. TedGreer, Jr., CEO of HOPE South Florida pointed out, “We can’t do what we do without our partners.” Greer said, “HOPE South Florida is honored to have been once again selected by Keller Williams Realty in recognition of their annual RED DAY. We continue to value our growing partnership and KW’s recogni- tion of the need for housing and services for homeless families and veterans in Broward County. Consistent with our de- sire to be a good neighbor and a contributor to our local com- munity, our staff, volunteers and the homeless families and vet- erans served by the ministry are all excited by this generous gift of Keller Williams and love the new and improved look of our home.” Formore information about how you and your organization can get involved in helping HOPE South Florida fulfill their mission of helping homeless families and veterans, please visit hopesouthflorida.org or contact Jackeline Alers at
