Jack Oden Valedictorian Boca Raton Christian School Jack Oden is the valedictorian for Boca Raton Christian School’s class of 2019. For the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, Jack will be studying on campus at Rochester Institute of Technology as a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. Jack is the team captain of Boca Christian’s robotics team and led his team to the World Championship in 2018. He also is the Secretary for Boca Christian’s chapter of the National Honors So- ciety, and strives to help his community whether through NHS or through serving his local church as technical help. Sena Erickson Salutatorian Boca Raton Christian School Sena Erickson will be graduating from the Boca Raton Christian School class of 2019 as Salutatorian and will be studying at the University of Miami on an academic scholarship. She is a Commended National Merit Scholar, a Pathfinders Scholarship Nominee for Sports, and a member of the National Honor Society. She is also the 2019 Varsity Cross-Country Regional Champion and a four-time State Championship runner in track and cross-country. Sena is a Level 1 CrossFit Certified trainer and a high-level competitive CrossFit athlete who wants to show others the love of Christ through her abilities. Luke Kaufman Valedictorian Calvary Christian Academy Luke Henry Kaufman is Calvary Christian Academy’s Class of 2019 Valedictorian. Graduating in the top of his class, Luke is a National Merit Finalist. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction and has earned anAPCapstone Diploma. Luke served as Vice President of the National Honor Society, and also held memberships in Mu Alpha Theta, the National English Honor Society, and the Na- tional Science Honor Society. Luke participated in the In- ternational Thespian Society and is also a Silver Cord Recipient. Luke will be attending the University of Florida Honors Program this Fall and plans to study math and engineering. Zoe Larson Salutatorian Calvary Christian Academy Zoe Larson is Calvary Christian Academy’s Class of 2019 Salutatorian. Zoe is a National Merit Finalist, anAP Scholar with Distinction and has earned anAPCapstone Diploma. Serving as President of the National Honor So- ciety, Zoe also heldmemberships inMuAlpha Theta and the National English Honor Society. She was an active member of the International Thespian Society, and is a Silver Cord Recipient. Zoe will be attending the Honors College at the University of Florida where she is one of five to have been accepted into their Musical Theatre Program. Richard Heers Valedictorian Atlantic Christian Academy Richard “Ricky” Heers is Atlantic Christian Academy’s 2018-2019 Valedictorian, but it is his heart for serving that truly separates him from other graduates. Ricky has served in various roles in school clubs and organizations. He has been a leader athletically, always setting a posi- tive example on and off the field. Ricky has participated in several service projects and foreignmission trips, shar- ing the message of the gospel. Ricky loves the Lord and exemplifies Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Caleb Dubinsky Salutatorian Atlantic Christian Academy Caleb Dubinsky is Atlantic Christian Academy’s 2018- 2019 Salutatorian. Caleb is a student who not only stands out academically, but also for his commitment to athletics. Caleb’s strong work ethic was evident whether it was completing advanced coursework or volunteering at events encouraging athletics in younger children. His leadership style can best be summarized in Titus 2:7, “In everything set them an example by doing what is good.” ACA was blessed to have Caleb on our cam- pus, setting a positive example for underclassmen. 26 JUNE 2019 www.goodnewsfl.org Good News • South Florida Edition GRADUATES Outstanding High School Graduates 2019 Martina Faber Valedictorian Cardinal Newman Martina Faber is graduating as Valedictorian of Cardinal Newman High School. Martina is a candidate for the In- ternational Baccalaureate program and graduates with a 5.24 cumulative GPA. She is President of the Spanish Honor Society and Vice President of the National Honor Society. She was captain of the Varsity Swim Team, an avid member of the Varsity Debate Team, and co- founder of the Investors Club at her school. She also in- terned at UnitedWay, where she planned and participated in various service projects in her community. Martina will be attending the University of Florida to study Political Science and Economics. Rebekah Brawley Salutatorian Cardinal Newman High School Rebekah Brawley will be graduating as salutatorian of Cardinal Newman High school and a member of the in- ternational baccalaureate programwith a 5.22 GPA. Re- bekah was a four year member of the varsity soccer team, and a two time first teamall-conference player. She participated in track and field and was secretary of the Cardinal Newman Key Club and National Honor Society. She also collected and refurbished cleats that are do- nated back toward families in need within the Palm Beach Gardens youth soccer program. She will be attending Emory University next year and intends on majoring in neuroscience. Alejandro Garcia Pembroke Pines Charter High School First Priority Club Leader AlejandroGarcia is graduating in the top 25%of his class at Pembroke Pines Charter High. He was a member of the National Honor Society for two years, a bandmember for seven years and on the swim team for four years.Ale- jandro was a student leader of the First Priority club for five years. He helped train up the next generation by dis- cipling themboth at his school and at Peters Road Baptist Church, where he served on their tech team for seven years and on two mission trips. Alejandro logged over 500 service hours. He plans to attend Moody Bible Institute to become a Pastor. William Singley Pompano Beach High School First Priority Club Leader William Singley has lead by example as President of the First Priority Club at Pompano Beach High School for two years. He volunteered as a Student Mentor during his Sophomore and Senior Years. He is a Second Degree Black Belt in Mixed Martial Arts. Alejandro also served as a group leader during International Summit at Pompano Beach High School.
