GoodNewsFL.org 37 JANUARY 2019 OUT AND ABOUT On Thanksgiving morn- ing, MedPro Healthcare Staffing and Leadership Broward Foundation Inc. hosted the Holy Cross Hos- pital Fort Lauderdale Turkey Trot. With more than 2,500 participants, this an- nual event raised over $130,000 in support of two very important community causes – the Leadership Broward Foundation pro- grams and the Helena Ramsay Soaring Leader Scholarship in memory of Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Helena Ramsay to celebrate her vision for a better global society. As the runners crossed the finish line, former mayor of Fort Lauderdale John P. “Jack” Seiler congratulated them and kicked off the Kids Dash. The awards presenta- tion followed the race, which awarded the top three fe- male and male athletes, as well as first, second and third place age group winners. The female and male ath- letes that earned first place were Kevin Sieff and Gabrielle Hesslau the female and male athletes that earned second place were Matias Porporato and Laura Dibella and the female and male athletes that earned third place were Tuan Nguyen and Anna Brook Opalinski.
