Good News - January 2019

Welcome 2019, step right in. The pages on the calendar continue to turn, and that is called life in real time. I pray that you have come to this point ready for the challenges of the future because that's what we must deal with; as we hopefully learn from the past, we must embrace the future. What is the future ? Hope is the future. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13 NIV). Like the calendar of life, we get to turn a new page every day; it's our choice, and we can choose to trust and believe in the Holy Spirit. I kind of figure we have an account with the Lord, and he grants us an endless reservoir of hope , but like Father Time on this earth, we have a more limited amount of strength of emotion , and we draw down on that account daily. Should we be wise enough to not waste that more limited God-given resource on the negative, when we have the same choice to use it on positive emotion like hope , rather than despair? To me, this is not a half-full, half-empty question. You have hope full time and not just when things are going well. Trust in the power of the Holy Spirit; 2019 here we come. We're proud to serve you. -Les PUBLISHER 2 JANUARY 2019 Good News • South Florida Edition South Florida Edition • Good News • January 2019 • Volume 20, Issue 10 - Leslie J.
