Good News - April 2019

OUT AND ABOUT 36 APRIL 2019 Good News • South Florida Edition StrikeForce 421 is South Florida’s first Chris- tian Women’s Giving Circle. This year, they are celebrat- ing their Fifth Anniversary of generous giving with an 8 a.m. breakfast on April 12 at the Lauderdale Yacht Club. StrikeForce 421 has granted over $500,000 to ministries in South Florida over the past five years. The organization was founded on the premise that giving is joyful for both the giver and the receiver. Each Pledge Partner do- nates $1,000 or more every year. The money donated is pooled together and, once a year, completely given away to ministries that pro- claim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the goal of StrikeForce 421 to give larger grants that will radi- cally impact a ministry. “Let’s face it, it takes money to change lives”, said co-founder and Presi- dent JoAnne Daudt. “If I donate $1,000 to a min- istry, that’s great. But if I pool my donation together with others, my gift could grow to $100,000 or more! That’s an impact. That’s a Giving Circle.” Prior grant recipient ministries will be in atten- dance at the five year Cel- ebration to share their stories about how a Strike- Force 421 grant impacted their ministries. Strike- Force 421 grants have ad- dressed issues in our community ranging from comforting the elderly, sav- ing babies, educating sin- gle moms, reducing hunger in schools, raising teen self-esteem, counsel- ing, strengthening mar- riages and families, and providing transportation for students to engage in beach evangelism, just to name a few. Although StrikeForce 421 has historically been a women’s organization, they welcome one and all to join them on April 12 to share in the joy of celebrating five years of generous giving!
