OUT AND ABOUT 34 APRIL 2019 Good News • South Florida Edition The board of directors at Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale is pleased to announce Dr. Scott Manor as the next seminary presi- dent. Manor will assume his new role July 1, 2019, at which time current president, Dr. Samuel Lamerson, will re- turn to the classroom as Dis- tinguished Professor of Biblical Studies. Lamerson is a graduate of Knox’s first class and pre- viously taught at Knox before being appointed president in 2014. When he approached the board about his desire to focus on teaching once again, an extensive search and selection process for his successor began. Following careful and prayerful consid- eration, Manor, who currently serves as Associate Profes- sor of Historical Theology, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Knox, was chosen. “Dr. Lamerson has been an outstanding president,” said Dr. Steve Kitchens, Knox Board Chairman. “However, we want to support Dr. Lamerson’s desire to return to the classroom and believe Dr. Manor is now ready to as- sume his new role.” Manor earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Covenant College, a M.A. in Exegetical Theology from Covenant Seminary, as well as a M.Th. and Ph.D. in Early Christian- ity at the University of Edin- burgh, Scotland. He also held a post-doctoral position in re- search and language study at Instituit Catholique de Paris prior to joining Knox Semi- nary in 2012. A Florida native, Manor lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife Rebecca and their two young sons. He enjoys traveling, running, and watching Cardinals baseball in his spare time. www.knoxseminary.edu Knox Theological Seminary Announces New President Dr. Scott Manor
