OUT AND ABOUT 36 MARCH 2018 Good News • South Florida Edition Helen and Harold Poole, the newest members of the Covenant Village of Florida family, celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary last month, and on Valentine’s Day they joined fellow residents for the annual dance, where stu- dents from Calvary Christian Academy’s jazz band and a cappella group performed music from yesteryear. “This is the generation that really appreciates the music,” said Rochelle Frederick, Cal- vary Christian Academy’s in- strumental teacher. “I like the students to perform for them, and the students work harder because they want to sound great for the residents.” Covenant Village resident Lynda Kyse, who danced with fellow residents and students alike, said, “The kids are awe- some. I love the dancing and I love the music.” After the dance, students passed out Valentine’s Day cards made by Calvary Chris- tian Academy’s grade school students. And, Helen and Harold shared their secret to 71 years of marriage and a long, healthy life. “God’s guid- ance and mutual respect,” they said, adding, “It’s important to surround oneself with good friends, to live a life of purpose and to interact with young peo- ple.” Covenant Village Execu- tive Director Doug Fennema said,“Our partnerships with local schools and universities are invaluable. By bridging the generations, each is learning from the other, and we’re build- ing a stronger, more cohesive community – one that creates joy and allows people of all ages to live a life of purpose.” (DVWHU 6HUYLFHV $0 (DVWHU %UHDNIDVW 6HUYHG $0 , *VTTLYJPHS )S]K -VY[ 3H\KLYKHSL° 7HZ[VY :[LWOLU 9L`UVSKZ ZV[JMS VYN N MIN OITALEVER SRTS B N le I IE A M sgnnig i nita evog Lnimeedef R l oacisu ARETN EDESA BHTIA FYI AM FHGUORHT F E OVOE LHS TERAHH SCIHW TSR AGINMROFRE PNAI RIST CH ER’EW A L T TNEMNI SUSEJ YR IST IN M nireff l Oliwdoo n - G oissimde AerF SENCAMORFRPE .g CCA Jazz Band Provides Valentine’s Day Entertainment Covenant Village of Florida resi- dent Lynda Kyse dances with Calvary Christian Academy jazz band member, Isaiah Bolton, during the annual Valentine’s Day dance in Plantation.
