Emily Grace Smith Boca Raton Christian School Valedictorian Emily Grace Smith is graduating as Valedictorian of Boca Raton Christian School and will be joining the Nyack College Lady Warrior’s Soccer Team on a com- bination of academic, athletic and service scholarships to study nursing. She was a Pathfinders Scholarship Nominee and recognized as an Association of Chris- tian Schools International Distinguished Student for ac- ademics, athletics, leadership and service. Emily has served on multiple mission trips. She has experienced athletic success with varsity soccer, varsity track and her Wellington Travel Soccer Team. She attributes her success to God’s blessing on her life and support from her parents, church and school. Daniel Chong Boca Raton Christian School Salutatorian Daniel Chong is graduating as Salutatorian and has accomplished much while at Boca Raton Christian School. He was commended as a National Merit Scholar and represented academic and spiritual leaders as a member in the National Honor Society. He was honored to have been cast as a lead role in the school’s spring musical production “Cinderella” as Prince Charming. He also served others either outside of school on a mission trip or in school through extracurricular activities such as their small group Crazy Love, being in Ignite and serving on the school’s worship team. Jackson Clay Foster Calvary Christian Academy Valedictorian As Valedictorian of his class, Jackson Foster is a Na- tional Merit Scholar Finalist, an AP Scholar with Dis- tinction, CCA 2018 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and Miami Herald Academic All-County. A member of the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), he placed third in the regional competition for prepared speaking, competing at the state level. He was in National Honor Society in grades 10 -12, was founding president of the CCA HOSA Club, and won CCA Distinguished Leadership Awards in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Partici- pating in CCA Varsity Baseball, he was Relief Pitcher and a 2016 State Cham- pion. He was also captain and goalkeeper for the CCA Varsity Soccer team and 2016 District Leader in saves. Matthew Ray Calvary Christian Academy Salutatorian Matthew Ray is the Class of 2018 Salutatorian at CCA and a National Merit Scholar as well as an AP Scholar with Distinction. He is a member of the Mu Alpha Theta: National Mathematics Honor Society and was National Honor Society President in 12th grade as well as a member in grades 9 to 11. Matthew Ray plans to attend Georgetown Univer- sity in the fall. Joshua Brown Coral Springs Christian Academy Joshua Brown has served as the student body chap- lain during his senior year at Coral Springs Christian Academy. In addition to teaching a weekly discipleship class with younger students, Joshua has also served in various roles during the weekly chapel services. In addition to his service as chaplain, Joshua has com- peted on the varsity basketball and track and field teams, capped off by a state meet appearance in the triple jump. Joshua has also accumulated over 370 service hours while at Coral Springs Christian Academy. Sophia Szpunar Coral Springs Christian Academy Sophia Szpunar has been involved in various facets of leadership in her time at Coral Springs Christian Academy. Most recently, Sophia has served as the senior class president where she helped coordinate class activities, including Senior Buddies - a time spent with first grade students in fellowship, and the senior trip service project which took place at a food pantry in New York City. Sophia competed on the varsity vol- leyball team and was named team captain in the 2017- 2018 school year. She has also contributed over 250 service hours in her high school years at Coral Springs Christian Academy. Chappell Lee Bunch First Priority Club at Fort Lauderdale High School Chappell Bunch is President of First Priority at Fort Lauderdale High. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Drama Club and Thespians. She earned Superior/Excellent in District and State Thes- pian competitions. She formed and hosts Leap of Faith mission camp. In this camp youth travel to Costa Rica and minister to children in need through Vacation Bible School as well as construction projects. Chappell per- forms in the Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant yearly at First Baptist Church Fort Lauderdale. She received the James "Boss" Yach scholarship and will be attending University of Florida in the fall. Michah Nicole Atmosfera First Priority Club at Atlantic High School Michah Atmosfera participated in the International Bac- calaureate Continuum at Atlantic High School and was an IBCareer ProgramCandidate, who finished in the top 25 percent of her class. She was the leader for First Pri- ority Club at Atlantic HS this year after spending her last two yearsworking to get the club up and running.Accord- ing to Jeff Standord, First Priority Ministry Director Palm Beach, her main goal was to have a club her brother could be in that would help him grow his faith while at school. In the last few months the club has seen over 20 students accept Christ. Ryan Szklany Highlands Christian Academy Ryan Szklany has attended Highlands ChristianAcad- emy since K4. During high school, he has participated in Band, Cross Country and Track and Field. He was a class officer, was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in Brain Bowl. Following grad- uation, Ryan plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronauti- cal University to studyAerospace Engineering. He has received a number of scholarships including Florida Bright Futures, the Diamond Eagle Scholarship, a Men's Track Scholarship, a Men's Cross Country Scholarship and the Florida Medallion Scholarship. A favorite verse of his is Hebrews 12:1-2a. Matthew Veynovich Highlands Christian Academy Matthew Veynovich has attended Highlands Christian Academy sinceKindergarten. During high school he par- ticipated in Band, Volleyball, Track and Field, and Varsity as well as Travel Basketball. He was a member of the National Honor Society, where he served as an officer, andwas also active inGBCYouthGroup. Matthewplans to attend Geneva College, majoring in Biopsychology and playing basketball. He has been awarded a number of scholarships, including ProChristo Scholarship, a Stu- dent Engagement Scholarship, a Christian School Grant and the Florida Bright Fu- turesAcademic Scholarship.
