Good News

A Miracle Number for 77 Families This one caught me by surprise. Although I had been given a casual "heads up" by my friend Bill Feinberg, owner of Allied Kitchen and Bath and former Chairman of Habitat for Humanity of Broward, all Bill could do was grin and say, "something big, something VERY big is about to happen." In early June, Habitat for Humanity of Broward had a who's who white tent groundbreaking, and I saw a lot of familiar faces in atten- dance, all celebrating "A Rick Case Habitat Community" featuring a colossal build out of a seventy-seven home community that sits on 9 acres in Pompano Beach, perhaps the largest build out in the na- tion to date! The 77 homes consisting of 42 one-story and 35 two-story units. Five different models of 3 and 4 bedroom homes. This is a planned, five- year build-out. This is the current Good News cover story and in more detail by our ed- itor, Shelly Pond, on page 26. I want to acknowledge that this has been approximately ten-years of extraor- dinary persistence in getting-it-done tenacity. Nancy Robin has been at the forefront of leading this initiative along with past and current Chairman of the Board Bill Feinberg and Robert Taylor, Jr. respec- tively. I would be remiss to not also mention that Habitat Broward has an outstanding Board of Directors. Awesome Job, and to God be the glory! “For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God” (Hebrews 3:4 ESV). - Les PUBLISHER 2 JULY 2018 Good News • South Florida Edition South Florida Edition • Good News • July 2018 • Volume 20, Issue 2 - Leslie J.
