the night before we were to depart, they served a dinner which consisted of the typical beans and rice, as well as one of the two chickens from the rooftop farm. After dinner, they brought out a flan they had made that day, and one of the family members remarked that it was the first time she’d had flan in about 30 years. These were some of the most materially poor people I have ever known, yet their hospitality was without peer. It was one of the greatest honors I’ve ever received and easily the most memorable meal I’ll ever eat. - Rick Hunter, Director of the CityChurch Project When I was young, I accidentally broke a glass at my grandparents’ house. I was fearful of the potential repercussion. However, after my confession, they replied 'well, there will be no punishment’. That taught me what I later learned about our LORD. Our sins are forgiven! My grandparents taught me a big lesson as a child and the LORD is still teaching me the lesson today of mercy and grace. - Susan Kassing, Community Leader We moved around alot while I was in elementary school. The first day of school, a wonderful group of girls invited me to a Ranch Bible study through the Florida Bible Church. It was only a few weeks later that I accepted Christ as Savior. I am eternally grateful for their love and kindness. And, the rest is history. - Tewannah Aman, Executive Director, Broward County Right to Life I think the most unique act of kindness that I've witnessed is the adoption of spe- cial needs children. Its one thing to help someone out once, but quite another to take in someone who will need your help for decades to come, if not, the rest of your (or their) life. What a beautiful picture of God's adoption of us! We have spe- cial (and life-long) needs and it took a special kind of love for him to take us in. - Tom Hendrikse, Senior Pastor, Rio Vista Church Years ago our son identified and rallied the troops over the malnutrition of a very young boy he found on the ground in Haiti. Compassion International confronted the father, drove the child to a nearby hospital, & saved his life. He is now healthy and doing well in a Christian environment.- New Life! - Virlee “Vee” Stepelton, Ministry Advocate s s s s Susan Kassing Tewannah Aman Tom Hendriske Virlee Stepelton Wants to Know…
