More than 100 guests enjoyed a late afternoon at the ballpark on Saturday, August 26 as they celebrated the many accomplishments of yesteryear’s Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s former members at the organization’s third annual Alumni Reunion and Hall of Fame Induction. This year’s event was again hosted by the Marlins Foundation at Marlins Park. Six former club members were inducted to the Clubs’ Alumni Hall of Fame and honored with an afternoon of food, refreshments and cele- brations. Immediately follow- ing the presentation, inductees and their guest were able watch the Marlins vs. Padres game. The event was emceed by former club football coach and Board and Hall of Fame member Howard Master. The six inductees into the Alumni Hall of Fame were Traffic Reporter for WPLG Channel 10 News Nicole Perez, Of Counsel Attorney with De La Peña Group Arturo Alvarez, Tallahassee Attorney and NFF College Football Hall of Fame member Carlos Alvarez, Retired Judge for Florida’s 11th Circuit Court Probate Division Judge Michael A. Genden, Retired MLB Third Baseman for the New York Yankees, Miami Marlins and the Boston Red Sox Mike Lowell, and Writer, Director and creator of TV sitcoms and movies Hugh Wilson.
